Job Description • Manufaturing Lead directs the work and activities of all workers in the Finish Room., • Follow all Company policies, rules, and regulations for safety, environmental, and quality., • Foremanreceives guidance from management on the job schedule, scope of job, • requirements,and works independently, withminimal supervision., • Lead the training, orientation, and monitoring of the production personnel., • Maintain a clean and orderly work area., • Take all precautions necessary to maintain an inventory of necessary tools and abrasives., • Ensure equipment is maintained and ready to use., • Checks schedule for upcoming jobs and sorts out priority of jobs coming into the finish room., • Verify schedule, accuracy of job traveler information, and assigns job travelers to workers., • Understand the production schedule and be flexible with changes., • Maintain a count of parts to coincide with job traveler requirements., • Handle and store castings with care to avoid damage., • Load and unload carts, move material within the warehouse or storage facility using a forklift truck, hoist, or other material handling equipment. attach a secondary card to maintain identification of castings. • Participate in period ending inventories., • Verify accuracy of production by counting, weighing, and documenting on job travelers., • Able to use a computer, to punch in and out, and punch on and off break, for payroll purposes., • Able to use a computer to log on and off jobs and enterpart counts and other job information., • Able to support crew in computer use to ensure job information is entered into the computer., • Responsible for computer information as it relates to job status, quantity, and quality of castings., • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Daily task list: 1. Ensure equipment is ready for use., 2. Assign job travelers to workers and ensure workers use the computer to log onto jobs., 3. Once all work is assigned, any additional workers are released to foundry or core shop., 4. Ensure that all workers have their proper PPE including safety glasses, masks, and hearing protection and are wearing them correctly. 5. Check job schedule and schedule work to meet requirements., 6. Quality checksall workstations at minimum 4-hourintervals to ensure workers are doing proper work., 7. Compare cycle times to standards to ensure proper level of productivity., 8. Check schedules to ensure, at least 1 and up to 3 jobs are scheduled for each worker., 9. Have equipment ready for workers as they complete one job and start another., 10. Move completed jobs to next work center., 11. Count and maintain an inventory of all consumables used in the shop., 12. Provide documents to office including inventory counts, backlog checks, and purchase/inventory requirements. 13. Provide information to management on issues of payroll, job performance, and discipline., 14. Provide information to management on issues of high cost, cost savings, job efficiencies, and other matters that may potentially reduce the cost of manufacturing.
