Job Description Maintenance Technician / Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Essential Functions • Complete assigned preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective work orders accurately and on time using the maintenance/PM system., • Install, assemble, test, inspect, and repair processing, packaging, forging, grinding, rolling, utility, water treatment, and air compressor equipment to minimize downtime across all facilities., • Ensure all repairs, installations, and modifications comply with safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP standards, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures., • Prepare job kits for repairs, ensuring required tools, parts, and materials are available., • Monitor equipment performance through routine inspections, troubleshooting, and testing; respond promptly to abnormal sounds, smells, temperatures, or performance changes., • Perform emergency mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and temporary repairs; document permanent solutions and schedule follow-up work to prevent recurrence., • Conduct weekly plant inspections, identify deficiencies, and communicate concerns to management., • Maintain equipment efficiency to support on-time production within budget; ensure machines are operational by shift end or properly escalated., • Document all completed work clearly and accurately within work orders., • Maintain cleanliness of machinery and surrounding work areas; perform lubrication, greasing, and oiling as required., • Safely use hand and power tools and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times., • Collaborate effectively with line mechanics and team members in a loud, fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and powertrain systems, including gearboxes, motors, chains, belts, pulleys, sprockets, forging equipment, and air compressors., • Experience with electrical systems including 480/220/110V, motors, contactors, frequency drives, and diagnostic tools (electrical experience preferred)., • Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding and the use of hand, shop, and precision maintenance tools (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers)., • Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing production machinery independently, including emergency response situations., • Knowledge of proper lubrication and preventive maintenance practices., • Proficient in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and committed to safety, quality, and GMP standards., • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation including schematics, CAD drawings, engineering designs, manuals, and regulatory guidelines., • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)., • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision., • Effective communicator able to collaborate with facility teams and oversee contractors as needed., • Reliable, punctual, and accountable; able to perform under pressure in emergency situations., • Ability to read, write, and speak English; Spanish is a plus., • High School Diploma or GED required., • Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment., • Valid driver’s license required; ability to operate heavy equipment and travel to obtain parts as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents., • Proficient with power and pneumatic tools., • Minimum of 3 years of welding experience., • Strong organizational and time-management skills., • Self-starter with the ability to multitask and prioritize independently., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills., • Basic computer skills., • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and positive attitude., • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions • Work performed during regular business hours., • Exposure to varying temperatures (heated or air-conditioned environments)., • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds., • Work environment may be oily and dusty; required use of PPE including safety glasses, ear protection, and bump cap in designated areas., • Requires manual dexterity, vision, hearing, and verbal communication.
