Job Summary and Qualifications The Trauma Program Coordinator, under the direction of the Trauma Program Director, shares 24-hour responsibility for administering all aspects of the Trauma program with the Trauma Medical Director. The Trauma Program Coordinator, in collaboration with the Medical Director, is responsible for assuring all Trauma Center verification standards are met as required by the American College of Surgeons and the Nevada Department of Health. The Trauma Program Coordinator is responsible for program assessment, planning, organizing, implementation, budgeting, performance improvement, education, trauma program hospital services utilization, and marketing communications. What you will do in this role: • Provides (with the Trauma Director) supervisory and support functions for all aspects of the Trauma Program., • Collaborates with nursing management and staff nurses in defining, guiding, and evaluating nursing practice in the provision of trauma care; including creation of policies and procedures related to trauma care., • Serves as a nursing consultant to other members of the multidisciplinary team and to community agencies., • Maintain the Trauma PI database to ensure adequate documentation as required by regulatory agencies., • Complete concurrent review of cases to identify quality, timelines and systems of care to meet state standards., • Participate in hospital education programs for nurses and resident physicians caring for trauma patients., • Serve as a liaison to the clinical areas responsible for trauma patients., • Coordinate multidisciplinary monthly Trauma Systems & Operations Committee and Peer Review meetings. What qualifications you will need: • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date, • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date, • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date, • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Provider and Instructor Status required., • Emergency (CEN) or Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) certification preferred., • Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a Level I or Level 2 trauma center., • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience. Prior experience as a Trauma Program Coordinator., • Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing.
