Job DescriptionJob Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician Job Description The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician assembles, designs, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical equipment and systems in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role works with PLCs, robotics, CNC machines, and various automation systems to ensure reliable operation, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement across the facility. Responsibilities • Assemble, design, and test hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment and systems, including circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, servo drives, and related components., • Work with plant PLC systems, including To-yo-puck, Mitsubishi, and Omron, to support production equipment operation and improvements., • Support and maintain plant robots, including ABB and Fanuc systems, through troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs., • Fabricate and machine components in metal, plastic, and wood to repair jigs, fixtures, and parts for projects, equipment repairs, maintenance work orders, and machine modifications., • Write, program, troubleshoot, modify, and repair programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machines, robotics, and other electronic equipment., • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical equipment, and machine components to restore equipment to safe and efficient operation., • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to diagnose and resolve issues., • Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and recurring issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions., • Diagnose and repair issues involving electrical circuits, high-speed spindles, bearing failures, 208-volt systems, AC/DC drives, and related components., • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems to reduce unplanned downtime., • Use test equipment and hand tools to perform hands-on maintenance, repairs, and equipment adjustments., • Complete required administrative tasks, including accurate documentation of work performed using written and electronic methods., • Support automation and industrial maintenance initiatives to improve equipment reliability, safety, and performance., • Participate in on-site interviews and skills assessments, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing, and demonstrate practical maintenance capabilities., • Collaborate with a panel of leaders and peers, demonstrating strong character, integrity, humility, and a team-oriented mindset.Essential Skills, • Industrial maintenance experience and/or relevant military maintenance experience., • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge applicable to industrial manufacturing equipment., • Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems in an industrial environment., • Technical knowledge and skills in PLCs, including programming and troubleshooting., • Experience with computers and information technology as it relates to industrial controls and maintenance., • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair., • Knowledge of motion and motor control systems, including AC/DC drives and servo drives., • Ability to perform welding and machining tasks to support equipment repair and modification., • Experience working with and repairing robotics, including ABB and Fanuc robots., • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation., • Experience with preventive maintenance practices in an industrial or manufacturing setting., • Capability to work any shift, including overtime, holidays, weekends, and plant shutdowns as required., • Strong integrity, humility, and team-focused attitude, with a commitment to safety and quality., • Effective communication skills to document work performed and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Electrical degree, diploma, or certification of completion for studies in electricity is a strong plus., • Experience with milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders., • Experience programming and maintaining CNC machines., • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley systems and industrial automation platforms., • Experience using test equipment for electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics., • Background in industrial automation, industrial maintenance, and electrical maintenance., • Comfort working with high-speed spindles, bearings, and precision mechanical components., • Ability to apply structured root cause analysis methods to recurring equipment issues., • Familiarity with STAR-format and situational interview questions, reflecting strong self-awareness and communication skills.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment with a strong focus on automation, robotics, and advanced industrial equipment. You will work on-site and may choose from available shift options, which can include a straight 2nd shift (approximately 4:45 pm to 1:30 am), a straight 3rd shift (approximately 10:00 pm to 6:45 am), or a weekend shift (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) with 12-hour schedules such as 6:00 am to 6:30 pm or 6:30 pm to 6:00 am, depending on current operational needs. The facility uses PLCs (including To-yo-puck, Mitsubishi, and Omron), ABB and Fanuc robots, CNC machines, and a range of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. The interview process is conducted on-site and typically lasts about half a day, including a written maintenance test covering electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic topics, a hands-on maintenance test, a plant tour, a lunch break, and a panel interview with multiple leaders using STAR-format and situational questions.
