Position Overview: Addition LLC is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the operations function across Addition and its two subsidiaries: The Pineapple Agency, the creative business, and The Juice Shop, the fabrication business. This leader will build and run a simple, scalable, and thorough operating system that supports a growing, project-based business and consistently delivers high-quality work on time and on budget. The right candidate is a hands-on operations leader who can create structure, improve visibility, and establish disciplined processes without adding unnecessary complexity. This person will own the day-to-day delivery engine across two distinct but connected businesses, leading both the client-facing project and account management team and the shop floor production, facilities, inventory, and logistics functions that bring projects to life. Industry background is important for this role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the same or a closely related industry, such as experiential marketing, live events, custom fabrication, scenic or set production, exhibits and environments, or specialty manufacturing, where creative concepts are produced and delivered as physical, project-based work. Key Responsibilities • Own the operations function, including project and account management, shop floor production, facilities, inventory, and shipping and logistics., • Build simple, scalable, and thorough operating processes and systems that support current operations and future growth., • Lead, manage, and develop the project and account management team, ensuring deliverables meet client and agency expectations, on budget and within deadlines, across multiple concurrent projects and clients., • Establish consistent project management methodology, including detailed work plans, resource allocation, status reporting, risk and issue management, and clear hand-offs across departments., • Oversee the shop floor and production staff at The Juice Shop, including scheduling, capacity planning, workflow, quality control, and safety on the fabrication floor., • Direct facilities management for the company’s shop and office spaces, including maintenance, equipment uptime, vendor and service contracts, and a safe, compliant, well-run physical environment., • Own inventory management, including materials planning, purchasing coordination, stock levels, tracking, and controls that reduce waste and protect project margins., • Manage shipping and logistics for inbound materials and outbound deliverables, including freight, carriers, on-site delivery and installation timing, and reverse logistics for reusable assets., • Partner closely with the Director of Finance on project costing, budgets, burn tracking, estimating inputs, and post-project review to protect and improve project profitability., • Define project scopes, contribute to statement of work assumptions, create staff plans, and produce realistic timelines in coordination with creative, production, and account teams., • Coordinate vendor negotiation and management, contracting outside resources and vendors as needed per project, and holding partners to scope, schedule, and quality standards., • Develop clear operational reporting and dashboards covering project status, production capacity, on-time delivery, utilization, inventory, and operational KPIs., • Establish and maintain operational policies, approval workflows, and standard operating procedures that improve accountability without slowing the business down., • Drive continuous improvement across the delivery engine, identifying bottlenecks and implementing practical solutions that increase speed, quality, and capacity., • Hire, manage, and develop operations, project management, and production team members over time as the business grows., • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team on capacity planning, organizational design, investment in equipment and systems, and operational risk management. This person knows how to build processes that are rigorous enough to support scale, while still being simple enough for teams to follow consistently across both a creative agency and a fabrication shop. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience., • 5 - 8 years of progressive operations experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility over both people and processes., • Extensive experience in the same or a closely related industry, such as experiential marketing, live events, custom fabrication, scenic or set production, exhibits and environments, or specialty manufacturing., • Proven experience leading project and account management teams in a fast-paced, client-facing, project-based environment., • Direct experience overseeing shop floor or production operations, including scheduling, capacity planning, quality control, and safety., • Working knowledge of facilities management, inventory control, and shipping and logistics., • Strong understanding of project management methodology, tools, and best practices., • Ability to work hands-on in a lean environment and personally drive execution., • Strong organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills to manage numerous programs and resources simultaneously., • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with creative, production, financial, and executive stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in project-based businesses such as experiential marketing, live events, fabrication, scenic production, manufacturing, specialty services, or creative production., • Experience operating across multiple entities or business lines under one organization., • Experience implementing or upgrading project management, ERP, inventory, or production systems., • Experience with budgeting, project costing, or margin management in partnership with finance., • Experience supporting founder-led, entrepreneurial, or newly integrated businesses. What Success Looks Like Within the first 12 months, the Director of Operations will be expected to: • Build a clear and reliable operating cadence across project management and the shop floor., • Improve on-time, on-budget delivery and overall visibility into project status and production capacity., • Establish standardized operational processes and reporting across Addition, The Pineapple Agency, and The Juice Shop., • Tighten inventory, facilities, and shipping and logistics processes to reduce waste and improve reliability., • Implement practical controls and workflows that improve accountability without slowing the business down., • Provide leadership with timely, decision-useful operational insights.
