Our cloud-based platform replaces legacy systems with simple, integrated software built specifically for small governments. We serve thousands of communities nationwide, streamlining operations, improving service delivery, and making day-to-day work more manageable. Were consolidating several acquired products into one platform and guiding our clients through this transition. Its complex, important work that requires a team that can execute at a high level to help drive that transformation. This Role: As a Product Owner, you will work alongside Software Engineering teams, Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and engage with Clients & Users to gain a thorough understanding of our clients needs, use cases, and existing software architecture to aid in the design and lifecycle management of our new SaaS products. You will help define and execute the product vision, manage the Product backlog, prioritize product needs, and work closely with the software development team to see the product through to completion and release. Your main tasks include research and analysis to map business processes and developing, defining, and prioritizing the backlog items such as epics, features, and user stories that guide the software development team to ensure the development and delivery of the highest quality products that deliver the most value in a timely manner. The position requires initiative, independent action, a sense of urgency while being thorough and precise, and the ability to make decisions. To succeed in this role, you should have a natural curiosity and analytical way of thinking, be able to self-investigate, and an ability to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users. Key Responsibilities: • Drive the established vision and development of the product through all stages of the product life cycle, from design and development to testing., • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal subject matter experts to define business processes, goals, user personas, and user journeys and translate them into technical requirements and User Stories., • Develop and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy., • Product backlog management, including optimization of backlog for the best product performance and business value and prioritization of the backlog based on changing requirements., • Work with engineering teams to determine how solutions should work from a functional perspective to ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements., • Act as the primary contact of the product, translating the vision and business needs between clients, software engineers, and stakeholders and providing elaboration where necessary., • Actively participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints., • Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the product., • Performing user acceptance testing., • Managing and overseeing timelines for implementation, delivery schedules, and deadlines to ensure timely completion of projects., • Coordinate with Product and Client Success to identify, prioritize, and resolve product issues and feature requests after initial release., • Become a subject matter expert in local government to understand the market and user needs., • Collaborate with other departments including Sales, Marketing, and Client Experience to gather feedback and share product feature knowledge., • Analysis of product usage to identify areas of improvement., • Documentation of product features including client-facing instructions and in-app documentation., • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions. What Youll Bring: • College degree in business, IT, or related field. Or 2 years of experience in business analysis or a related field., • Knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology, • Knowledge of Product development architecture, Product Ownership experience a plus, • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver on a common goal, • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions., • Advanced technical skills., • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations., • A track record of following through on commitments., • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills., • Diligent problem-solver with strong attention-to-detail., • Able to work with minimal supervision whether in the office or working from home., • SaaS experience a plus. Success Metrics: • Increase user satisfaction within the first six months by delivering high-value product features aligned with client needs and market demands., • Achieve on-time delivery rate for product releases by effectively managing and prioritizing the product backlog., • Reduce post-release product issues by user acceptance testing and continuous improvement of product quality. Where Youll Work • Omaha-based? You'll follow our hybrid model: work remotely with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays, • Remote? Youll be fully supported to work from anywhere in the U.S. We prioritize connected, accountable teams no matter where you're located, • Members of the sales team should expect to attend 4-6 conferences in their territory each year during event season Travel & Onsite Connection This role is primarily remote, but in most cases, a mandatory part of our hiring process includes meeting a member of our team in person. Most often, that will be at our Omaha office, though it may occasionally take place at an offsite location. Additionally, the first three days of onboarding and orientation are held in Omaha to help you get started with the right support and connections. We reimburse all travel expenses within our company guidelines, and after onboarding, you can expect to visit Omaha quarterly.
