American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/03/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a hospital Med/Surg Tele unit, • Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:00, • Normal nurse-to-patient ratios are 5:1 (days/eves) and 6-7:1 (nights), with possible stretch ratios, • Patient diagnoses include osteoarthritis and fractures, • PCTs support the unit with vital signs, blood glucose, EKGs, and daily living activities, • In-house phlebotomy handles peripheral draws; nurses manage PICC and central lines, • Epic is the charting system, and experience with Epic is required, • Floating within scope to like units is required, • No on-call requirement, • Every other weekend is required, • Block scheduling may be considered but is not guaranteed, • Responsibilities include managing complex medical and surgical patients with a variety of equipment and protocols, • First-time travelers are accepted, • Professional references from supervisors within the past 2 years may be required, • Max of one week requested time off allowed per contract, • Return staff are eligible if one year has passed since prior employment, • Scrub attire is any combination of navy and white, • Holiday coverage may be required depending on schedule, • Pre-start modules are required and partially billable\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NY RN license in hand required for consideration, • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience, • Current BLS certification required, • Epic EMR experience required, • Must have skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, blood product administration, peripheral line and heparin protocol management, cardiac drips (no titration), PCA, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, chest tube management, external CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy management, and wound vac care, • Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
