Job Description Director of Nursing (RN) Emergency Department Full-Time | Leadership Role | Level I Trauma Center Location: Tucson, AZ $20,000 Sign-On Bonus + Competitive Compensation + Relocation Assistance Available About the Role Envoy Recruitment is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (RN) to lead the Emergency Department at a major Level I Trauma Center in Tucson, AZ. This position oversees the full operations of a 38-bed Emergency Department with 2 trauma bays, managing approximately 27,000 annual visits and 815 trauma cases per day. The Director will lead a team of around 60 staff members, working closely with hospital executives, physicians, and nursing leadership to ensure excellence in emergency and trauma care delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven nursing leader passionate about patient outcomes, team development, and operational performance in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. Key Responsibilities * Oversee all operational, clinical, and administrative functions within the Emergency Department * Lead and mentor nursing and clinical staff, fostering engagement, collaboration, and accountability * Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality emergency and trauma care 24/7 * Partner with hospital leadership to develop and implement strategies for departmental growth and performance improvement * Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and workflow optimization * Serve as a role model and advocate for nursing professionalism, teamwork, and patient safety * Collaborate with union representatives (NNOC) to maintain positive labor relations and operational efficiency What You Bring Education * Required: Associate Degree in Nursing with a Bachelors in a healthcare-related field or BSN * Preferred: Masters Degree (MSN or healthcare-related field) Experience * Minimum 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment (manager or charge nurse level) * Experience in a high-acuity emergency or trauma setting strongly preferred Licensure & Certifications * Active RN license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain) * AHA BLS certification required * Additional emergency or trauma-related certifications preferred Why Join Envoy Recruitment?
