Experience the vibrant Indianapolis healthcare community while enjoying the city's arts, dining, and parks.\n \n\nPCU RN Job Details\n\n • Location: Indianapolis, IN 46202 (Indiana nursing jobs)\n, • Healthcare Setting: Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU)\n, • Employment Type: Travel nursing contract\n, • Start Date: December 8, 2025\n, • End Date: March 9, 2026\n, • Contract Duration: 13 weeks\n, • Shift: 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:00 - 19:30)\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1660-$1700\n, • Patient Ratio: 1:3-4\n, • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required\n, • First Time Travel Nurses: Accepted\n, • Local Candidates: Not accepted for PCU positions\n\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n\n, • Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience\n, • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state)\n, • Required certifications: ACLS and BCLS\n, • Clinical skills in cardiac monitoring, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, feeding tube care, post-op patient care, epidurals, non-titratable cardiac drips, IV insulin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP, total laryngectomy, and Doppler flap checks\n, • Ability to float between Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU units within university and affiliate hospitals\n, • Two supervisor references required\n, • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)\n, • Trauma Level I experience preferred\n, • Previous charge nurse experience preferred\n\n\nPCU Nurse Responsibilities\n\n, • Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with complex surgical and medical diagnoses (ENT, thoracic, general surgery, urology, medical overflow)\n, • Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms, drips, chest tubes, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and surgical drains\n, • Provide post-operative care and support for patients recovering from major surgeries\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams\n, • Float to other hospital units as needed to meet patient care demands\n, • Participate in unit charge nurse duties as needed (training provided)\n, • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital protocols\n We believe in empowering your career.
