Job Description Commercial Electrical Helper | Apprentices (Entry-Level) $15-$17/hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Optional Saturday overtime available (not required) Position Overview The Commercial Electrical Helper assists licensed electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial buildings. This is an entry-level role, ideal for individuals with little to no prior electrical experience who are eager to learn the trade, build hands-on skills, and work in a team-oriented construction environment. Under the supervision of experienced electricians, the Electrical Helper supports daily jobsite operations, follows safety procedures, and learns industry standards while contributing to successful project completion. Key Responsibilities • Assist licensed electricians with commercial electrical installations and repairs, • Carry, organize, and maintain tools, equipment, and materials, • Help run conduit (EMT, PVC, rigid) under supervision, • Assist with pulling wire and cable through conduit, • Support installation of electrical boxes, lighting fixtures, outlets, and switches, • Assist with grounding and bonding tasks, • Perform basic measuring, cutting, drilling, and fastening, • High school diploma or GED required, • Basic proficiency using a tape measure, • Valid driver’s license (no exceptions), • Strong desire to learn the electrical trade, • Clothing allowance, • 401(k) with company match, • ESOP stock – 100% employee-owned company, • ESOP serves as a secondary retirement plan in addition to the 401(k), • Paid time off plus 6 paid holidays, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, • Supplemental insurance (short-term disability and life insurance through Unum), • Health savings account (HSA), • Disability insurance, • Relocation assistance, • Standard hours are 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, • Optional overtime may be offered on Saturdays, • We value work-life balance and do not push overtime, • Dress Code:, • Jeans (no holes), • Professional t-shirt, • Work boots (steel toe optional; tennis shoes not permitted), • No cut-off shirts or shorts, • PPE: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
