JOB OVERVIEWWe are seeking a Real Estate Attorney with strong technical skills and a client-first mindset to handle a wide range of commercial real estate and real estate finance matters. This role requires balancing detailed legal work with meaningful client interaction. The right candidate will enjoy digging into technical issues, driving deals forward, and working closely with clients, lenders, and colleagues to make transactions run smoothly. Key Responsibilities • Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, loan documents, easements, and related instruments., • Oversee all aspects of due diligence, including title and survey review, zoning and land-use research, and environmental assessments., • Coordinate with lenders, investors, surveyors, title agents, and local government officials to clear conditions and ensure timely closings., • Manage closing checklists, prepare closing statements, and facilitate recording of documents., • Advise clients on development issues, entitlements, and property-level risk mitigation strategies., • Monitor deal timelines, track critical dates, and keep stakeholders informed of status and next steps., • Support clients with ongoing portfolio management matters such as lease amendments, estoppels, and refinancing transactions., • Stay up to date on changes in real estate law and regulations to keep clients well-advised.Common Matter Types, • Commercial and residential property purchases and sales, • Commercial lease negotiations (landlord or tenant), • Zoning, land use, or permitting issues, • HOA and condominium representation (entity-side), • Waterfront, coastal, riparian, or environmental compliance issues, • Property tax disputes, • Opportunity Zone transactionsSuccess in this position goes beyond mere accomplishments; it culminates in personal and professional fulfillment. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the Florida Bar, • Minimum of five years of dedicated experience in commercial real estate transactions (law firm or in-house legal department), • Demonstrated ability to draft precise, well-structured transactional documents and negotiate effectively with opposing counsel, • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters under time-sensitive deadlines, • Self-starter with the judgment to work independently, balanced by the social skills to collaborate in a team environmentPreferred Qualifications, • Experience with development projects, construction lending, or land use entitlements, • Familiarity with multistate or portfolio transactions involving retail, industrial, or mixed-use assets, • Comfort with basic financial modeling or interpreting pro formas Benefits WHY JOIN JIMERSON BIRR?
