Job Description Mission The Maintenance Technician ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production equipment and facility systems through proactive and corrective maintenance. This role directly supports NJ Manufacturing Recruitment's commitment to operational excellence by minimizing downtime, maintaining compliance, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Core Competencies • Accountable – Completes assignments fully and ensures equipment is restored to service before transitioning to the next task., • Technically Proficient – Skilled in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems., • Clear Communicator – Accurately documents activities and escalates unresolved issues promptly., • Preventative-Focused – Executes scheduled maintenance with consistency and precision., • Safety-Driven – Adheres to OSHA and company safety standards without exception. Key Responsibilities • Execute preventative maintenance activities (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual), including filter and oil changes., • Troubleshoot and repair: Plastic and metal injection molding machines; CNC machinery; vacuum furnaces, debinding equipment, and hot runner tooling systems; Small and large glycol chillers; Auxiliary equipment, including granulators, dryers, thermolators, conveyors, and vacuum systems; Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems., • Maintain and repair facility infrastructure, including HVAC, compressed air, utilities, and lighting., • Manage spare parts inventory: source components, obtain vendor quotes, and coordinate timely procurement., • Document all maintenance work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System(CMMS)., • Communicate and escalate issues effectively to minimize production impact. Performance Metrics • ≥ 95% Preventive Maintenance Adherence, • ≥ 98% Equipment Uptime in Supported Areas, • 100% Accuracy in Work Order Documentation, • Zero Recordable Safety Incidents, • Consistent Attendance and Punctual Shift Coverage Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment., • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment, including injection molding machines, CNC machinery, furnaces, chillers, and auxiliary systems., • Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems., • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and diagrams., • Strong adaptability across multiple equipment types and willingness to learn new systems., • Basic computer proficiency, including CMMS, email, and vendor portals., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. Preferred: Hands-on experience with Arburg, Engel, or Nissei injection molding equipment; CNC machining; vacuum furnaces; chillers; or hot runner tooling systems. Forklift certification and exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices are also desirable. Physical Requirements • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and crouch for extended periods., • Manual dexterity for the use of tools and precision components., • Visual acuity for reading schematics, inspecting parts, and troubleshooting., • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery. Work Environment • Active manufacturing floor with injection molding, CNC, vacuum furnaces, and auxiliary systems., • Exposure to industrial noise, variable temperatures, and airborne particulates.
