Role Purpose: The Project Manager leads the execution of assigned projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring every aspect of work meets Mendoza standards of safety, quality, and profitability. This seat represents full ownershipthe success or failure of each project rests with the Project Manager. They coordinate field and office operations, align contract intent with production and financial performance, and protect company interests through disciplined planning, cost control, and communication. Project Leadership & Accountability The Project Manager owns the direction, performance, and outcome of each assigned project, leading with clarity, confidence, and follow-through across safety, schedule, cost, and culture. Leadership requires visible presence in the field, at owner meetings, and through daily communication to keep teams aligned and accountable. 2. Financial Performance & Cost Management The Project Manager controls all project financials, including budgets, forecasts, and variance management, while maintaining procurement discipline and cost transparency. Forecasts and cost-to-complete updates are developed in close partnership with the Project Accountant to ensure financial accuracy and alignment before information is elevated to Area and Finance leadership. The PM is accountable for explaining variances, identifying recovery actions, and ensuring financial insight and operational reality remain fully aligned. 3. Scheduling, Coordination & Risk Reduction The Project Manager owns the master schedule and execution alignment, coordinating manpower, equipment, and materials in close partnership with the Superintendent to reduce risk and prevent drift. The PM maintains disciplined short-term planning through accurate three-week lookaheads and proactive coordination when shared resources or constraints may impact execution. Field presence is non-negotiablethe PM regularly engages on site and in owner meetings to validate progress, reinforce accountability, and actively manage risk. 4. Safety, Quality & Compliance Oversight As the projects Quality Assurance owner, the Project Manager ensures all work meets Mendoza standards for safety, quality, and craftsmanship. The PM validates field safety practices, addresses non-conformance, and ensures corrective actions are completed and sustained. Zero-incident expectations and compliance requirements are upheld without exception. Safety, quality, and compliance are actively led by the PMnot delegated. 5. Team Development & Cultural Alignment The Project Manager leads and develops the project team, holding Superintendents, Project Engineers, and Field Engineers accountable for results and alignment with the Mendoza Way. The PM coaches through challenges, develops capability, and identifies emerging talent for growth and succession in partnership with the Area Manager. Cultural alignment and people development are treated as continuous responsibilities, reinforced through regular feedback, coaching, and participation in HR alignment and validation processes. 6. Client, Subcontractor & Vendor Relations The Project Manager represents Mendoza Companies with professionalism, integrity, and clarity in all client, agency, subcontractor, and vendor interactions. The PM communicates transparently, resolves issues early, and maintains trust through consistent follow-through. Scope discipline and change management are enforced with fairness and rigor, ensuring all negotiations reflect Mendozas standards. The PM actively seeks and applies client and stakeholder feedback to strengthen relationships and drive continuous improvement. 7. Documentation, Communication & Closeout Excellence The Project Manager owns the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of all project documentation and communication. The PM ensures recordsincluding billing and closeout materialsare coordinated with the Project Accountant and internal partners so that documentation consistently reflects both field reality and financial truth. The PM leads post-project debriefs to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement. Communication is concise, confidential, and purposefulmoving information efficiently and responsibly. Core Responsibilities: • Execute assigned projects from preconstruction through closeout within approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards., • Maintain the project schedule and three-week lookaheads with the Superintendent., • Prepare project forecasts, cost-to-complete updates, and variance explanations with the Project Accountant., • Monitor costs, commitments, and procurement to identify variances early., • Lead project meetings and ML10s, driving issue resolution and follow-through., • Maintain consistent field presence to validate progress and address risks., • Enforce safety, quality, and compliance standards in the field., • Manage RFIs, submittals, and change documentation., • Support billing, pay applications, and closeout documentation., • Communicate project status, issues, and changes to all stakeholders., • Identify and escalate project risks and commercial impacts., • Coach and support Superintendents and project staff., • Participate in HR reviews and cultural alignment discussions., • Contribute to post-project reviews and lessons learned., • Remain available during active operations and critical escalations., • Travel as required to support project execution. Education and Experience: • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred., • 58 years progressive project-management experience in infrastructure or electrical construction., • Proven ability to deliver projects safely, profitably, and on schedule., • Record of developing personnel and sustaining cultural alignment. Physical Requirements: • Frequent travel between offices and job sites; ability to walk, stand, or climb within active construction environments.
