You will train, coach, and mentor teams in Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), evidence-based teaching strategies aligned to IEP goals, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) practices. You’ll also research and recommend evidence-based curricula and systems—ensuring the program meets Department of Education requirements and Spectrum standards with a continuous-improvement mindset. ‖ Responsibilities Include: * Providing comprehensive training, guidance, and ongoing support to program staff in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). * Maintaining high-quality standards for academic instruction and behavioral intervention services delivered to all students. * Coaching staff on evidence-based instructional practices aligned to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, strengthening implementation fidelity and accelerating student progress. * Assessing program-wide professional development needs and designing, building, and delivering training supports that close performance gaps and elevate outcomes. * Strengthening staff capability through continuous learning by participating in—and promoting participation in—conferences, workshops, seminars, and training sessions that expand core competencies. * Leading the training, certification, and ongoing coaching of staff in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) strategies, reinforcing safe, consistent, and effective application. * Partnering with the Program Director to support hiring, onboarding, orientation, and initial training processes for behavioral program staff. * Researching evidence-based curricula and recommending adoption aligned with Department of Education requirements and program priorities. * Optimizing student, classroom, and program-wide support systems by continuously evaluating needs, refining processes, and implementing improvements. * Participating proactively in required meetings, including student progress reviews, parent-teacher conferences, staff development sessions, and other relevant forums as needed. * Conducting routine quality assurance reviews at the student, staff, classroom, and site levels, documenting results and recommending actionable improvements to increase program effectiveness. * Ensuring ongoing compliance with Department of Education regulations and Spectrum operational standards, policies, and procedures. * Supporting additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by program leadership. ‖ Qualifications Required: • Master’s degree or higher in applied behavior analysis, special education or a closely related field of study., • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) credential highly preferred., • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a CA state special education credential preferred., • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training., • Prior experience and/or knowledge in providing behavioral support, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting., • Well-versed in applied behavior analysis (ABA) including positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), functional behavior assessment (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIP's)., • Highly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other related disabilities., • Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, effective teaching strategies, classroom management systems, data-based decision making, and working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's)., • Prior experience and/or highly skilled in crisis management systems and intervention., • Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency situation and make independent decisions., • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals., • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability., • Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment. ___ is a division of ___, the nation’s leading provider of alternative and special education programs for children and young adults.
