Job DescriptionJob Title: Senior Project Manager Job Description The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of industrial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, primarily using early engagement and design-build delivery methods. This role ensures that every project meets schedule, budget, quality, and safety goals while building and maintaining strong client relationships. The Senior Project Manager leads multidisciplinary project teams, manages risk, and upholds company standards as the key point of accountability for internal and external stakeholders. This position independently leads at least one significantly complex project and mentors less-experienced project managers, modeling client trust-building and professional excellence in fast-paced industrial environments such as manufacturing, cold storage, food and beverage distribution, and logistics facilities. Responsibilities • Lead internal coordination during project pursuit and early planning phases, with a strong focus on constructability analysis and industrial market delivery models., • Collaborate with internal and external vendors, specialty services, engineers, and design partners to align budgets, schedules, and constructability reviews., • Manage vendor and subcontractor engagement during preconstruction to ensure accurate scopes, competitive buyouts, and clear expectations., • Guide and manage design-build delivery models from conceptual design through project completion., • Develop and oversee comprehensive project execution plans, including staffing strategies and resource allocation that reflect market-specific timelines and technical requirements., • Work closely with the superintendent and project team to develop site logistics plans, understanding construction flow and constraints to optimize efficiency., • Lead turnover meetings, project startup processes, and risk assessments to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to construction., • Act as the primary liaison between owners, design partners, and field teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives., • Develop, maintain, and update master project schedules using appropriate scheduling tools., • Monitor key milestones, identify schedule risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain or improve project timelines., • Coordinate with field teams and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery of materials, equipment, and work activities., • Review, negotiate, and manage owner contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements throughout the project lifecycle., • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, proactively identifying and addressing scope gaps, change orders, and potential disputes., • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting to maintain financial control and transparency., • Monitor change management, revenue recognition, and cost trends to ensure projects achieve or exceed targeted margins., • Utilize project management and financial systems for real-time tracking of cost, schedule, and performance metrics., • Ensure project documentation, reporting, and workflows follow established company standards and standard operating procedures., • Promote training, continuous improvement, and adoption of new technologies and processes across the project team., • Enforce company and OSHA safety standards across all project sites and activities., • Participate in safety inspections, audits, and safety-related events, reinforcing a strong safety culture., • Hold project teams accountable for safety key performance indicators and reporting protocols., • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project delivery process, building trust and anticipating facility and operational needs., • Conduct post-project reviews, gather client feedback, and ensure that feedback informs future project delivery., • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships to secure repeat business and referrals in the industrial market., • Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities in day-to-day project management., • Build trust with clients, partners, and project teams through transparency, reliability, and follow-through., • Mentor and develop project managers, project engineers, and field staff, supporting their professional growth and advancement., • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture focused on problem-solving and continuous improvement., • Manage project risk proactively to minimize disputes or claims through careful contract oversight and issue resolution., • Drive accurate and timely reporting and ensure adherence to all established processes and procedures., • Support achievement of key performance indicators, including schedule performance, financial results, safety compliance, client satisfaction, team development, and risk management.Essential Skills, • 10–12+ years of progressive project management experience in construction., • Proven experience managing industrial construction projects, including manufacturing, cold storage, food and beverage distribution, or logistics facilities., • Demonstrated success managing large, complex projects with budgets greater than $10 million., • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field., • Strong experience guiding design-build delivery methods from conceptual stage through project completion., • Advanced project management skills across preconstruction, planning, execution, and closeout phases., • Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience in budget management, forecasting, and cost reporting., • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project., • Proficiency with project management platforms such as Procore, CMiC, or similar systems., • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence outcomes., • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, partners, and internal teams., • Effective negotiation skills for managing contracts, change orders, and vendor relationships., • Thorough understanding of construction flow, logistics planning, and site constraints in industrial environments., • Solid knowledge of OSHA and construction safety standards and the ability to enforce them consistently.Additional Skills & Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $170000.00/yr. Annual Bonus Opportunity - will be eligible to participate in Kadean’s annual bonus program following each completed year of employment. Bonus payments are typically made in March, provided you are actively employed at the time of payout. This role has a target bonus opportunity of (15% - 25%) of base salary, with the actual outcome based on company financial performance and your individual contribution to results.
