RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct services to clients, including intake, engagement, assessment, referral, service plan development and follow-ups. Attend monthly Community board, NYPD and other stakeholder’s meetings to promote program, center activities or events. Monitor and recruit interns and volunteers Monitor and document client progress toward service plan goals. Will increase Pyramid Community Service Program community engagement and assist Director with creating engaging programming to enhance Pyramid Community Service Program awareness. Will conduct in-house audits on files and facility to make sure we complies with DOH and DYCD. Document all interactions with, or on behalf of, clients. Build community partnerships to strengthen center’s community resources. Provide general clerical support, including filing, faxing, word processing, typing, photocopying, and data entry. Answer telephones, take messages and direct calls to the appropriate parties. Report to, and meet with, supervisor on a monthly basis. Complete program reports on a monthly basis or more frequently as required. Assist with special projects as required. Perform additional duties as assigned by Director. QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or equivalent credential required. A minimum of 1-years of relevant work experience. Proficiency in English required; proficiency in a second language preferred. Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required. Young Judaea Sprout Brooklyn Day is Camp Seeking Nature/Garden Specialists Young Judaea Sprout Brooklyn Day Camp, located in Red Hook, is a Hebrew dual-language camp for children entering Pre-K through 5th grade. No previous Hebrew experience is necessary to be part of the Sprout Brooklyn community. Sprout Brooklyn is a place where children from a wide spectrum of backgrounds join together to create a joyful, diverse community built on Jewish values, a connection to Israel and the Hebrew language. Our Nature and Garden Specialists will build their own informal Jewish education curricula based on Jewish values and creating a connection to Israel. They will teach daily 30-minute lessons to campers entering Pre-K through entering 5 grade. Sprout Brooklyn values staff that are positive and flexible team players who are excited to spend the summer with young campers and staff. The ideal candidate is excited about camp life and feels comfortable wearing multiple hats and will never say that a task “isn’t their job”. Responsibilities Work with the Program Director to create weekly lesson plans Create and execute fun, age-appropriate activities Engage campers and help them develop new skills Run 30-minute lessons daily with groups of 12-14 campers Incorporate Jewish values, Hebrew and/or Israel education into activities whenever possible (assistance is provided if you do not have experience in this area) Requirements At least 18 years old Experience working with children ages 3-10 At least 2 years’ experience teaching or working with children in nature or garden-based activities This can mean working with a national park nature program, running a school garden, supervising hikes for scouts, etc. Experience attending or working at a summer camp (preferred, not required) Enthusiasm and the willingness to be silly Hebrew fluency is a plus (not required) Camp runs Monday - Friday from June 23rd – August 15th with a week of required staff training on June 16, 17, 18, and 22. All positions report to the Program Director and are part-time. All positions are open at both elementary school and middle school sites. Group Leader and counselors work Monday to Friday 2:30 to 5:40p.m. Education Specialist will work 10-14 hours a week between the hours of 3p.m. and 5:30p.m. Group Leaders are responsible for the overall leadership, planning and implementation of after school program activities, including integrated educational projects, recreation, arts & crafts and group building activities. They are responsible for addressing the basic needs of the students in their group and serve as first responders in mediating any conflicts or personal issues that may arise with students. Positions are available in both the Middle School and Elementary School. Counselors are responsible for giving support to Group Leaders and Specialists and will work with students during group activities and projects. Description The Research Program Coordinator I assists in the development of research protocol designs, management, data analyses and assistance to Principal Investigators with the preparation of basic sciences research activities. This position is responsible for laboratory research administration. Responsibilities Provides assistance and consultation on basic research methodologies and statistical analysis issues. Participates in the primary analysis of evaluation datasets. Documents and records observations on progress of research, investigations, and data per regulatory requirements and MSMC protocols. Assists Principal Investigators (PI) and study team members offers guidance on research methods and techniques. Provides assistance to the Principal Investigator or Research Manager on grant applications. Completes all Institutional Animal Care and Use (IACUC) and other regulatory applications and renewals. Develops policies and procedures within area of responsibility.
