Ideal for experienced pediatric critical care nurses and travel nurses seeking Omaha nursing jobs and Nebraska travel nurse opportunities. \n\nJob Details\n\n • Position: PICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac ICU / Pediatric Cardiac ICU Nurse\n, • Location: Omaha, NE 68114 (Omaha nursing jobs, Nebraska travel nurse)\n, • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)\n, • Shift: Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 – $2,370 (competitive travel nurse pay)\n, • Unit: Cardiac ICU (CVPICU), 32 beds, average daily census 21\n, • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2\n, • Weekend Coverage: 3 out of 6 weekends per contract\n, • Orientation: 36 hours\n, • Float Requirement: May float to PICU, NICU, and Med/Surg as needed\n\n\nQualifications & Certifications (PICU / Cardiac ICU)\n\n, • Experience: Minimum 2 years recent pediatric cardiac ICU and PICU experience required\n, • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state\n, • Required Certifications: PALS, ACLS, BLS\n, • Preferred Certification: CCRN (pediatric critical care preferred)\n, • Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions only)\n\n\nClinical Skills & Experience\n\n, • ECMO exposure or experience; pediatric ECMO nursing skills highly valued\n, • Experience with invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, arterial lines, RA pressures) and advanced hemodynamic monitoring\n, • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management, pediatric ACLS protocols\n, • Post cardiac surgery care including open-heart and single-ventricle physiology\n, • Heart transplant and heart failure pediatric patient care experience\n, • Administration of blood products, central/PICC line management, IV vasopressors, and sedation infusions\n, • Pediatric dosage calculations, ventilator management, procedural sedation, chest tube management, airway care, and Broselow system use\n, • Comfortable with CRRT, advanced life support devices, and interdisciplinary critical care workflows\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n, • Deliver expert, compassionate pediatric cardiac critical care for neonates, infants, and children\n, • Manage advanced monitoring and life-support equipment (ECMO, CRRT, ventilators, arterial lines)\n, • Administer and titrate cardiac medications, vasopressors, and sedation infusions safely\n, • Interpret pediatric dysrhythmias and respond to hemodynamic instability\n, • Provide post-operative care for pediatric cardiac surgery patients and support heart transplant care pathways\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services\n, • Float to PICU, NICU, or Med/Surg as operational needs require\n, • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate effectively with families and the care team\n\n\nWhy This Travel Nurse Opportunity in Omaha, NE?\n\n, • Work in a high-acuity pediatric cardiac ICU with strong clinical support and learning opportunities for travel nurses and PICU RNs\n, • Experience the welcoming Midwest lifestyle—affordable living, parks, riverfront trails, and vibrant arts districts\n GHR Healthcare Job ID #463194.
