The Social Work Program Manager supervises a team of Immigration Social Workers who conduct meaningful assessments, develop individualized service plans, provide crisis intervention, and connect families to essential community resources. This position encompasses three core functions: (1) Program Management, (2) Clinical Specialization, and (3) Education and Advocacy. Working alongside our collaborative legal and social work teams, the Program Manager ensures high-quality services while supporting the professional development of their team. We are seeking a Spanish bilingual social worker with strong foundational knowledge of social work ethics and philosophies. The ideal candidate will be passionate about immigrant rights, experienced in supervision and program management, and committed to fostering a justice-driven environment where both staff and clients can thrive. CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Program Management • Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of immigration social workers providing case management services, • Oversee case file maintenance and ensure compliance with CIRA policies and documentation standards, • Manage the Flex Fund Program, including timely processing of requests and budget documentation, • Travel to other Nebraska offices to provide ongoing support and supervision to social work staff, • Maintain a reduced caseload to balance direct service with management responsibilities, • Collaborate with the Director of Social Work and other departments on strategic planning and cross-program referrals, • Collaborate with Program Director in coordinating and implementing Raid Response activities throughout Nebraska, • Report on program developments relevant to CIRA’s social work program at management and staff meetings, • Assist with the preparation and presentation of reports to board members and funders, when relevant, • Provide educational supervision for social work students completing internships at CIRAClinical Specialization, • Review and approve biopsychosocial assessments and individual service plans with team members, • Serve as a clinical resource for complex cases and provide guidance on challenging client situations, • Deliver internal training to support team development and maintain service quality, • Facilitate referrals to community partners and identify gaps in available services, • Stay current with community resources and partner programs through regular engagementEducation and Advocacy, • Support community partnership development by working with the Director of Social Work and Director of Community Engagement to connect clients with essential resources, • Participate in community meetings, events, and presentations as a CIRA program representative, • Contribute to advocacy efforts for client needs during community collaboratives and initiatives, • Master’s Degree in Social Work is required, • Fully licensed Clinical Social Worker is strongly preferred (for supervision of MSW Foundation students), • 3 - 5 years of experience in social work, including case management, client assessments, and service plan development, • Fluency in English and Spanish is required, • Experience in supervision and management preferred, with demonstrated ability to lead and train others, • Demonstrated attention to detail with strong case management and reporting skills, and proven ability to build positive client relationships, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities, • Demonstrates reliability through consistent attendance and strong time management, with ability to work flexibly in an evolving environment, • Extensive knowledge of community resources and services available to immigrant populations, • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, • Impeccable integrity, positive attitude, and mission-driven, • Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or trauma-affected individuals and families preferred, • Strong commitment to CIRA's mission and values in serving immigrants, refugees, and newcomers, • Strong cross-cultural communication skills and ability to work sensitively and effectively with people of diverse national, ethnic, cultural, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds, • Fluency in using a computer and Office 365 applications (ex. Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) and the ability to learn new data management software, • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as program needs require, • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle, • Ability to work independently and take initiative as needed, • Ability to pass all required background checks, • Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United StatesWORKING CONDITIONS:, • This role includes desk work in the office as well as frequent travel throughout rural Nebraska and Southwest Iowa to meet with clients and attend meetings.
