Job Description About Anointed Hands Wellness Anointed Hands Wellness is a growing physical therapy and wellness practice focused on helping our clients move better, feel better, recover, and improve their overall quality of life. We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and experienced Physical Therapist Assistant who enjoys working closely with patients, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and wants to be part of a growing practice. Position Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant works under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, individualized patient care. This position requires more than the ability to perform exercises and treatments. We are looking for a PTA who can confidently manage a busy treatment schedule, recognize changes in a patient's condition, communicate effectively with the supervising PT, maintain timely documentation, and help create an organized and positive clinical environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, personable, clinically confident, organized, and able to work independently within the PTA scope of practice. Primary Responsibilities Patient Care & Rehabilitation • Provide skilled physical therapy interventions according to the Physical Therapist's established plan of care., • Carry out therapeutic exercise, therapeutic activities, neuromuscular re-education, gait and balance training, manual techniques, and other appropriate interventions within the PTA scope of practice., • Progress or modify treatment activities appropriately within the established plan of care., • Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate significant changes to the supervising Physical Therapist., • Provide appropriate patient education regarding exercises, activity modification, body mechanics, and home exercise programs., • Help patients understand the purpose of their treatment and encourage active participation in their recovery., • Maintain a welcoming, encouraging, and professional treatment environment., • Assist with safe and efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. Documentation & Compliance • Complete accurate and timely daily treatment documentation., • Document patient response, functional progress, interventions performed, and relevant clinical observations., • Maintain documentation that supports medical necessity and skilled therapy services., • Follow Medicare, insurance, clinic, and professional documentation requirements., • Communicate with the supervising PT when reassessment, modification of the plan of care, or additional clinical direction may be necessary., • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements. Patient Experience Every team member contributes to the patient's experience at Anointed Hands Wellness. The PTA will: • Build positive and professional relationships with patients., • Help patients understand their treatment plan and goals., • Encourage consistency with recommended visits and home programs., • Recognize barriers that may prevent patients from successfully completing their plan of care and communicate those concerns to the appropriate team member., • Work collaboratively with the front office and clinical team to maintain continuity of care., • Help create an environment where patients feel heard, supported, and confident in their care. Clinic Operations & Team Support • Work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, rehabilitation staff, and administrative team members., • Help maintain an organized, clean, safe, and treatment-ready clinical environment., • Assist with directing and supervising rehabilitation technicians or support staff when appropriate., • Identify opportunities to improve clinic efficiency and patient flow., • Communicate schedule concerns, cancellations, or gaps that may affect productivity., • Demonstrate flexibility when clinic needs change., • Assist with onboarding or mentoring support staff as experience and leadership responsibilities grow. Wellness & Whole-Person Care Anointed Hands Wellness offers rehabilitation alongside a variety of wellness and recovery services. The PTA should be comfortable learning about the services available within the practice so they can appropriately educate patients about options that may complement their rehabilitation or wellness goals. This does not mean aggressive selling. Our expectation is that team members listen to patients, recognize potential needs, provide appropriate education, and help connect patients with services or providers that may benefit them. Community & Practice Growth As a growing private practice, every team member contributes to the success of the clinic. The PTA may occasionally participate in: • Community wellness events, • Educational presentations, • Physician or community outreach, • Patient education initiatives, • Clinic marketing activities, • Social media or educational content, • Referral relationship development, • Special clinic events and promotions What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: • Genuinely enjoys working with people., • Is confident interacting with a variety of patient populations., • Can manage a busy clinical schedule without sacrificing quality of care., • Demonstrates strong clinical judgment within the PTA scope of practice., • Communicates concerns rather than allowing problems to go unresolved., • Takes initiative and looks for ways to help the team., • Is dependable and punctual., • Completes documentation accurately and on time., • Accepts feedback and demonstrates a desire to improve., • Works well independently while understanding when collaboration with the PT is necessary., • Understands that patient experience is just as important as the treatment itself., • Wants to grow professionally and contribute to a growing practice. Qualifications Required: • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program, • Current or eligible Illinois PTA license, • Current CPR/BLS certification, • Ability to meet the physical requirements associated with providing physical therapy services, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Preferred: • 2+ years of outpatient physical therapy experience, • Experience treating orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, • Experience working in a busy outpatient/private-practice environment, • Experience supervising or directing rehabilitation technicians, • Previous leadership, clinic operations, or team-development experience, • Interest in wellness, recovery, fitness, or integrative approaches to patient care Exceptional candidates with less experience who demonstrate strong clinical skills, initiative, maturity, and leadership potential are encouraged to apply.
