Job DescriptionDirector of Operations About: A rapidly growing, employee-owned manufacturer of building envelope solutions with over 13 years in business is seeking a Director of Engineering to help lead their growing team! They are currently experiencing 100% growth year of year! Looking for an Engineering manager/Director with experience in fast paced environments, companies that have scaled and growing engineering teams. Offer: Salary range: $150,000-$180,000 depending on experience Hybrid remote 100% Employer-covered premiums for Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan with Employer Contribution Paid Time Off & Holidays Life & Disability Insurance Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Technology, or related field. 8+ years of operational leadership in manufacturing, ideally in construction materials, sheet metal, plastics, or similar environments. Strong understanding of production planning, supply chain management, logistics, and equipment maintenance. Proven success improving throughput, reducing scrap, and managing cost sensitive operations. Willing to travel - travel expected up to 50% which is anticipated to be overnight in several domestic locations Nice to have but not required: Experience with sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, extrusion, or similar processes. Knowledge of ASTM, ICCES, or other construction material compliance frameworks. Lean/Six Sigma certification. ERP/CRM experience (NetSuite). Background supporting sales teams serving distributors, contractors, and OEMs. Responsibilities: Manufacturing Oversee daily operations across multiple third-party production facilities, material suppliers, and warehouse facilities. Ensure consistent output that meets engineering specifications, ASTM/ICC standards, and customer performance requirements. Reduce manufacturing lead time and cost through disciplined scheduling, process control, and vendor management. Partner with engineering on new product introduction, product design, and process validation. Supply Chain Management Lead end to end supply chain planning, including demand forecasting, production planning, and capacity alignment. Ensure raw material availability through proactive procurement and vendor management. Optimize inventory levels to balance working capital, service levels, and production continuity. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, lead times, and service agreements. Implement supply chain risk mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing, safety stock planning, and contingency logistics. Logistics & Distribution Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including freight management, carrier performance, and transportation cost control. Ensure on time, damage free delivery to distributors, job sites, and OEM customers. Optimize warehouse operations, material handling, and finished goods storage. Improve logistics efficiency through route optimization, freight consolidation, and carrier scorecards. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement Lead Lean, Six Sigma, or similar initiatives to eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, and improve yield. Standardize SOPs, work instructions, and quality checkpoints across shifts and facilities. Implement automation, material handling improvements, and technology upgrades to enhance efficiency and safety. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management Own compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and industry specific standards. Oversee safety programs, audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions. Manage operational risk, including equipment reliability, raw material variability, and workforce planning. Team Leadership & Culture Lead and develop supervisors, production managers, supply chain staff, logistics coordinators. Build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Strengthen communication and collaboration between operations, engineering, sales, and customer service. Financial & Strategic Planning Develop and manage operating budgets, cost reduction initiatives, and capital expenditure plans. Analyze production data, material usage, logistics costs, and margin performance to drive decisions. Support long term planning, including facility expansion, capacity modeling, and equipment upgrades.
