Job DescriptionDescription: ESTIMATED HIRE DATE - LAST WEEK OF FEBRUARY The Springs Resort & Spa is seeking a reliable and motivated Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our culinary team in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. This role is essential to delivering consistently high-quality food by supporting daily prep, executing dishes to standard during service, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Prep Cook Responsibilities • Wash, peel, chop, dice, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and prep lists., • Prepare sauces, stocks, dressings, and foundational components of menu items., • Label, date, store, and rotate food products following FIFO and food safety standards., • Assist with receiving deliveries and properly storing products in accordance with storage guidelines., • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, coolers, and kitchen equipment. Line Cook Responsibilities • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes, specifications, and presentation standards., • Execute station responsibilities efficiently (e.g., grill, sauté, fry, pantry) during service periods., • Monitor food quality, portioning, and consistency; communicate concerns or shortages to kitchen leadership., • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and properly care for knives, tools, and equipment., • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines at all times., • Communicate clearly with kitchen teammates to ensure smooth service flow and timely ticket execution., • Support overall kitchen operations and assist with additional duties as assigned. Requirements: Required / Preferred Experience • High school diploma or equivalent preferred., • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, or high-volume food service environment preferred., • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, and kitchen safety practices., • Ability to follow recipes, production standards, and direction from culinary leadership., • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work effectively under pressure., • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical & Work Environment Requirements • Ability to stand and move for extended periods throughout a shift., • Ability to frequently use hands for food preparation tasks and safely operate kitchen equipment., • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move items such as food products, equipment, or supplies (up to approximately 40 lbs)., • Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and sharp tools., • Ability to follow safety procedures while working with knives, hot surfaces, and kitchen equipment.
