Job Description The Dispatcher serves as the central communication hub for the organization’s security operations. This role is responsible for monitoring security camera feeds, managing the emergency notification system, receiving and dispatching calls for service, and coordinating the issuance of security equipment. The Dispatcher ensures timely and accurate communication between team members, supports incident response, and contributes to the safety and security of all facilities, staff, and guests in alignment with the organization’s mission. Key Responsibilities • Monitor live security camera feeds to identify and report suspicious activity or safety concerns., • Operate and manage the emergency notification system to communicate critical information during incidents., • Receive and process incoming calls to the security dispatch line, prioritize requests, and direct appropriate personnel to respond., • Maintain accurate logs of calls, incidents, and activities in accordance with established protocols., • Track and issue security equipment such as radios, lockout kits, battery jump boxes, and other operational tools., • Coordinate with on-site security officers, facility staff, and emergency responders as needed., • Maintain awareness of ongoing incidents to provide real-time updates to leadership and responding personnel., • Ensure all security-related systems and equipment are functioning properly; promptly report malfunctions or issues., • Follow established security procedures and contribute to the development of improved dispatch and monitoring practices., • Perform other duties as required to support the ministry’s overall mission. Education and Experience • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, emergency dispatch, or related field preferred., • Familiarity with security monitoring systems, radio communication procedures, and emergency response protocols a plus. Skills and Abilities • Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear and professional interaction with staff, guests, and emergency personnel., • Ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive in high-pressure situations., • Proficient in using security monitoring software, emergency communication systems, and basic office technology., • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records., • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple incoming requests simultaneously. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, employees will frequently be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 15 pounds occasionally, and more than 40 pounds infrequently with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
