Job Description Job Title: Precaster Job Description The precaster assembles metal forms and participates in the full manufacturing process of precast and pre-stressed concrete products, including slabs, stairs, beams, and custom components. This role involves cleaning and preparing molds, pouring and finishing concrete, and supporting various production activities in a fast-paced, physically demanding shop environment. Responsibilities • Assemble metal forms for molding reinforced concrete slabs, stairs, beams, and other precast products., • Clean, prepare, and inspect molds and forms before each pour to ensure quality and accuracy., • Pour concrete into forms, ensuring proper filling, consolidation, and leveling of concrete castings., • Finish concrete surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques to meet quality and specification standards., • Frequently climb or hop in and out of narrow forms that are approximately 5–6 feet tall while maintaining safety and awareness., • Read and understand the production schedule and adhere to required time frames and daily targets., • Assist with the setup of concrete forms, including positioning, bracing, and preparing reinforcement as needed., • Assist with stripping and removing concrete forms after curing, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently., • Use hand tools and power tools to support form assembly, adjustment, and general production tasks., • Support general production activities related to precast and pre-stressed concrete manufacturing across multiple zones., • Maintain a clean and organized work area and participate in housekeeping duties throughout the shop., • Work collaboratively with a crew of 5–10 people, communicating clearly to coordinate tasks and maintain workflow., • Follow all safety procedures and use equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner., • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a regular basis., • Ability to frequently climb in and out of narrow forms that are approximately 5–6 feet tall., • Ability to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, stretch, and climb for extended periods of time in a production environment., • Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 of an inch., • Proficiency in using hand tools for construction and concrete-related tasks., • Proficiency in using power tools safely and effectively in a production or construction setting., • Basic familiarity with concrete work, including handling, placing, and general labor tasks., • Experience with concrete finishing tools and techniques., • Experience in construction, precast production, or general labor in an industrial or manufacturing environment., • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or drawings., • Carpentry or woodworking skills, especially related to building or modifying forms., • Experience using heavy equipment such as overhead cranes., • Reliable, cooperative work style with a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others. Work Environment This role is based at a precast concrete manufacturing facility that produces burial vaults, stairways, septic and water tanks, manholes, storm and sewer drainage components, retaining walls, park restrooms, light pole bases, and custom concrete projects. You will work primarily indoors on the production floor as part of a crew of approximately 5–10 people, within a larger workforce of about 150 employees. The shop is large with open doors and consists of six different production zones, each using different skills and concrete mixes. The environment is physically demanding, hot at times, and dirty, with concrete dust and splatter common throughout the work area. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, concrete finishing tools, and may work around overhead cranes and other heavy equipment while wearing appropriate work attire suitable for a rugged, industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
