Job Description Reliability & Maintenance Engineer – Metal Stamping & Automotive We are seeking a highly skilled professional with metal stamping experience and automotive manufacturing project exposure to support critical operations in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment. This role focuses on equipment reliability, failure analysis, and continuous improvement across press systems and automation equipment. Key Responsibilities Catastrophic Failure Response & Troubleshooting • Serve as the first responder for equipment failures, press breakdowns, and automation system issues within heavy manufacturing facilities, • Perform advanced troubleshooting across mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and electrical controls systems, • Collaborate with maintenance teams, operations, and external vendors to ensure safe equipment startup, issue containment, and solution validation, • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) using methodologies such as 5-Why analysis, Fishbone diagrams, and Fault Tree analysis, • Develop and implement corrective action plans (CAPA) with defined timelines and ownership, • Document failure modes, lessons learned, and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives, • Maintain failure logs, downtime tracking systems, and equipment performance reports for stamping presses and automation systems, • Drive cross-functional communication and read-across initiatives across multiple sites, • Analyze equipment reliability metrics including MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), • Develop preventive maintenance programs (PM) and standardized inspection procedures, • Identify critical inspection points for early detection of equipment failures, • Integrate condition monitoring into digital maintenance systems, checklists, and standard work practices, • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or Mechanical Technology (or equivalent experience), • Minimum 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, field service, or automotive manufacturing environments, • Demonstrated expertise in metal stamping operations and automotive production systems, • Strong proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems troubleshooting, • Proven experience with complex machinery repair, equipment diagnostics, and process improvement, • Experience with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), risk assessment, and reliability engineering, • Hands-on experience with stamping presses, automation systems, destacking systems, conveyance systems, and press transfer systems, • Background as a Field Service Technician, Reliability Technician, or Maintenance Lead in industrial manufacturing metal stamping experience, automotive manufacturing, industrial maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical systems, automation systems, stamping presses, root cause analysis, 5-Why analysis, Fishbone diagram, Fault Tree analysis, corrective action plans, reliability engineering, preventive maintenance, CMMS, Maximo, MTBF, MTTR, condition monitoring, equipment diagnostics, heavy manufacturing, field service technician, maintenance lead Company DescriptionHiring Transparency & AI Disclosure Statement In compliance with applicable Canadian employment regulations, we confirm that this job posting represents a current, active vacancy within our organization.
