Job Description Overview Provide guidance and directions to plant and terminal managers, Certified Trainers, and drivers; of fleet operations policies and programs ensuring compliance with DOT and FMCSA safety regulations. Compile and analyze data producing reports and make recommendations to enhance safe fleet operations. Responsibilities • Remain current on DOT/FMCSA regulations for fleet and drivers ensuring compliance with safety, HOS, maintenance, Driver Qualification, controlled substance and alcohol., • Conduct accident investigations, document root cause analysis, follow up, ensure adherence to FMCSA regulation., • Identify tasks to achieve assigned goals., • Identify regulatory compliance risks/concerns and make recommendations or take corrective actions to implement solutions or improve controls., • Ride along with drivers coaching and training them., • Develop and lead training events for management and drivers., • Assist in development of policies and guidelines., • Research Industry Best Practices and stay abreast of changes or developments in the industry that increases safety and adds value to drivers, to include identifying systems, technology, etc., • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience., • 3+ years fleet safety., • 3+ years managing and leading others., • Commercial Driver’s License., • Familiar with truck maintenance., • Approximately 50% travel will be required., • This position will report to the Area Manager.
