We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is motivated to work in an exciting pediatric setting! In this position, you will practice in an advanced role to provide developmentally appropriate and age-appropriate health maintenance for well children, episodic care for ill children, and comprehensive care for children with chronic conditions. The NP or PA works under a delineation of clinical privileges and will work collaboratively with other members of the health care team. Practice under established guidelines and clinical protocols, the APP assumes independent and interdependent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of treatment and procedures. Job duties are performed in a manner that is developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served. As an advanced practice provider, the NP or PA is responsible for education, research, consultation, and evaluation of clinical practice at various levels. This is a part time position. This APP will work 2-3 days per week. Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner: • Master's degree in nursing required, • RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact required, • FNP, NNP, PNP-BC, WHNP-BC, CPNP-AC, AG-ACNP, or PHMNP-BC from the Texas Board of Nursing required, • Required Bachelor's Degree, • PA -Cert-Physician Assistant by the Texas Medical Board Nurse Practitioner: • Daily uses advanced practice knowledge and skills to systematically collect and evaluate health assessment data and manage patients' caseload. Formulates a plan of care in collaboration with other health care professionals and documents the plan in the patient's medical record., • Accurately evaluates patient's responses to interventions and modifies the plan of care demonstrated by written documentation., • Accurately presents and documents the data, impression, and plan of care on all patients as demonstrated in the written documentation., • Consistently demonstrates effective communication skills and works to eliminate communication barriers., • Collaborates effectively with other members of the health care disciplines to provide comprehensive care to patients., • Utilizes effective and appropriate interviewing skills to elicit information from patients and/or family and collaborates with them in developing the care plan., • Requests consultation and/or initiates referral for specialized care as appropriate.
