We are seeking a motivated candidate to serve in a hybrid role of Legal Assistant to support our growing Corporate and Tax Team in our Del Mar Heights, San Diego and Orange County offices. This position provides high-level administrative and substantive legal support to attorneys handling sophisticated corporate and transactional matters, with opportunities to contribute billable and non-billable work as part of an engaged and collaborative team. Summary Under the supervision of attorneys, the Legal Assistant performs a broad range of administrative and substantive legal duties in support of corporate and transactional matters. The role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Location This position can be based either in Del Mar Heights, San Diego or Irvine and may offer a hybrid work arrangement for both billable and non-billable work, subject to firm policy and business needs. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Drafting, revising, proofreading, and formatting correspondence and complex corporate and transactional documents, • Assisting with entity formations, governance, compliance, and ongoing entity maintenance, • Reviewing, organizing, and preparing agreements, contracts, and transaction materials for attorney review, • Coordinating signatures, closings, and post-closing deliverables, • Supporting due diligence efforts, including organizing and managing data rooms and transaction files, • Communicating directly with clients, internal teams, and external vendors, • Managing attorney calendars, deadlines, and time entry, • Preparing and submitting attorney expense reimbursements Qualifications The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with attorneys and paralegals. Required and preferred qualifications include: • 3+ years of Legal Assistant experience, preferably in a corporate or transactional law firm practice, • ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate required, • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), • Experience with iManage preferred, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, • Provide timely, accurate, and high-quality work product, • Communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, and third parties, • Anticipate attorney needs and exercise sound judgment, • Foster positive working relationships and contribute to a collaborative team culture, • Collaborative, mission-driven team culture, • Opportunity to support high-impact work involving tribal sovereignty, economic development, and major gaming and commercial projects, • Competitive compensation. These roles typically pay $87,000–$110,000 depending on experience. If your pay expectation is outside this range, we still encourage you to apply.
