Job DescriptionJob Title: Assembler Job Description The Assembler fabricates and assembles a wide variety of assemblies and supporting hardware by applying established assembly techniques and using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and related equipment. This role reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, work orders, and other documentation to determine the proper methods, sequence of operations, and dimensional and finish specifications, while maintaining accurate inventory and supporting production goals in a regulated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Assemble and calibrate production parts across multiple product lines and cells, following documented procedures and training matrices., • Locate, read, and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, ATPs, specifications, templates, and work instructions to determine assembly requirements., • Fabricate, trim, drill, ream, grind, sand, and finish parts using templates, hand tools, and power tools as required., • Mix and apply ingredients, primers, adhesives, and sealants according to specifications, including small to medium part assemblies., • Perform assembly and testing operations, including aspirator assembly and testing, regulator assembly, and gauge assembly as assigned., • Assemble very small parts and components, including small hollow tubes into coils, and perform diameter testing and heat-treating operations using kilns for brazer assembly as applicable., • Perform large assembly tasks such as packboard assembly, including hand drilling, squeeze riveting, and measuring rivets after successful completion., • Hook up parts to regulators using wrenches, connect hoses, and read and record test data from computer-based systems., • Inspect all final products to verify compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and shipping requirements., • Fill out and maintain required production documentation, including travelers, pull sheets, forms for shipments, and other job-related records., • Use E10 transactions and job-related dashboards, including part and job trackers, to support production, inventory, and quality tracking., • Assure compliance with customer specifications, company quality standards, and on-time in-full (OTIF) delivery and cost goals., • Help the team evaluate trends in labor standards, costs, and process improvements, and provide input to enhance efficiency and quality., • Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization., • Maintain accurate inventory of parts, materials, and components used in assembly operations., • Lift and move materials and test manifolds (typically 30 lbs. minimum and up to 40 lbs. for individual lifts as required by assignment), using proper techniques and equipment., • Adhere to all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and task-specific safety protocols, including appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)., • Remain current with and complete all required training, including job-specific, safety, and compliance training., • Perform other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned to support production and organizational goals.Essential Skills, • 1–2 years of manufacturing assembly experience required; 3+ years of experience in a regulated industry such as aerospace preferred., • Proven ability to assemble and calibrate mechanical components and production parts using hand and power tools., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings, ATPs, specifications, templates, and work instructions., • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude for working with mechanical assemblies, small parts, and precision components., • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use production software, dashboards, and data entry tools., • Proficiency with E10 transactions and job-related dashboards, including part and job trackers, or ability to learn quickly., • Ability to meet deadlines, plan work accordingly, and support on-time, in-full delivery and cost objectives., • Experience working with hand tools and power tools in a production or assembly environment., • Ability to mix and apply primers, adhesives, and sealants following specified procedures., • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team., • Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement., • Experience with continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing practices., • Ability to lift and handle materials up to approximately 40 lbs. individually, as required by the assignment., • Ability to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for extended periods, and reposition the body as needed to perform various tasks., • Willingness and ability to submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required., • Willingness and ability to complete any medical examinations required by law related to the physical work environment and occupational activities., • High school diploma or GED.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments., • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly lines and production cells., • Experience with very small part assembly and small hollow tube-to-coil assembly., • Familiarity with brazing, welding, or soldering processes is a plus, especially for brazer assembly work., • Experience with heat treating operations and operating heat treating kilns., • Background in packboard or large assembly work, including hand drilling and squeeze riveting., • Ability to measure and verify rivet dimensions after installation using appropriate gauges or measuring tools., • Experience assembling regulators, including connecting parts with wrenches and hoses, and working in moderately noisy environments., • Experience in gauge assembly, with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow templates accurately., • Comfort working with small parts and precision measurements., • Ability to read and interpret data from computer-based test systems and accurately record test results., • Demonstrated support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives., • Education assistance readiness, such as interest in further technical training or certifications.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing and assembly environment that includes both small and large mechanical assemblies. Standard schedules include a 1st shift from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 6:00 am to 10:00 am on Friday, as well as a 2nd shift from 2:00 pm to 12:00 am Monday through Thursday, with a shift differential available for qualifying shifts. Work areas may vary by product line, including aspirator assembly and testing, brazer assembly, packboard assembly, regulator assembly, and gauge assembly. The work involves the use of hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, adhesives, sealants, kilns for heat treating, and computer-based systems for recording test data and tracking jobs. Some areas can be moderately loud, particularly around regulator testing and certain machinery. Team members regularly handle small to medium parts and occasionally larger assemblies, perform manual lifting within defined limits, and may stand, sit, or move between workstations for extended periods. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols are required at all times to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
