Job DescriptionJob Title: Mobile Equipment Maintenance Technician Job Description The Mobile Equipment Maintenance Technician maintains, repairs, and supports mobile equipment and related mechanical systems. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, minor mechanical troubleshooting, and component repair or replacement to keep equipment safe, functional, and reliable. You will work with gearboxes and mechanical drive components, use hand and power tools daily, and follow strict safety and maintenance procedures while working independently to meet productivity and quality expectations. Responsibilities • Perform preventive maintenance on mobile equipment according to established schedules, procedures, and documentation., • Troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective actions., • Inspect gearboxes and gears, and pull, repair, or replace gearboxes and individual gears as needed., • Assemble, build, and maintain maintenance carts and related equipment using hand tools and following written instructions and documentation., • Apply proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safe maintenance and repair activities on all assigned equipment., • Use hand tools and power tools such as impact wrenches, sockets, and ratchets to perform mechanical maintenance tasks., • Maintain an organized and clean workspace, including tools, parts, and maintenance records., • Accurately document maintenance activities and repairs in logs or maintenance systems as required., • Follow all safety policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions at all times., • Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting productivity, quality, and safety expectations., • Prioritize tasks effectively to support equipment uptime and operational needs., • Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and parts needs clearly to supervisors or team members as required.Essential Skills, • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in mechanical repair., • Working knowledge of gearboxes, gears, and mechanical drive components., • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures and their practical application., • Experience using hand tools to assemble, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment., • Ability to use power tools, including impact wrenches, sockets, and ratchets, in a safe and effective manner., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently., • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when performing maintenance tasks and recordkeeping., • Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks., • Basic troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving minor mechanical issues., • Comfort working in a hands-on maintenance role that involves physical activity and tool use.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience performing preventive maintenance on mobile or industrial equipment., • Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or maintenance environments., • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot gearboxes, including pulling and replacing entire gearboxes or individual gears., • Comfort assembling, building, and maintaining maintenance carts or similar equipment using hand tools., • Willingness to work overtime, especially on Saturdays, when needed to support operations.Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site role in an industrial shop environment. The standard schedule is 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the option to move to a 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. shift if desired. There is frequent opportunity for overtime, especially on Saturdays. The work is highly physical, with approximately 90% of the day spent walking or standing. Some areas of the shop are not air-conditioned, and the environment can be hot, dusty, and dirty at times. Many tasks involve working with tools, equipment, and components that will require you to be comfortable getting your hands dirty. You will regularly use hand tools and power tools such as impact wrenches, sockets, and ratchets while working around mobile and industrial equipment in a busy maintenance setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
