Foxtail Catering & Events Full-Time Event Manager Position Overview The Front-of-House Event Manager is a leadership role responsible for executing exceptional events while serving as a key liaison between clients, event teams, and company leadership. Reporting directly to the Senior Front-of-House Event Manager, this position oversees onsite event operations, staff performance, client experience, and event logistics across The Fire Society brands. This role combines hands-on event management with administrative and operational responsibilities. Successful candidates are highly organized, solutions-oriented leaders who thrive in fast-paced environments, lead by example, and maintain the highest standards of hospitality and professionalism. While the primary focus of this position is onsite event leadership, administrative hours are dedicated to planning, documentation, team development, operational initiatives, and cross-department collaboration. RESPONSIBILITIES Event Leadership & Execution • Serve as the onsite leader and primary company representative for assigned events., • Take full ownership of event success, proactively resolving challenges and ensuring seamless execution from load-in through breakdown., • Lead event setup, service, and strike while maintaining exceptional hospitality standards., • Direct and support Front-of-House teams, Floor Managers, Bar Leads, and support staff throughout all phases of service., • Maintain direct communication with clients, vendors, venue partners, and event stakeholders., • Coordinate closely with culinary leadership to ensure efficient service flow, staff meals, breaks, and overall event operations., • Lead pre-service meetings and communicate event expectations, timelines, service standards, and operational priorities., • Monitor event execution, identifying opportunities to improve organization, efficiency, guest experience, and team performance., • Ensure company standards, procedures, and hospitality expectations are consistently upheld across all events., • Support onsite training and mentorship of new staff and developing leaders. Team Leadership & Development • Foster a positive, accountable, and professional work environment., • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance observations for both internal and agency staff., • Assist with employee development, training initiatives, and leadership growth opportunities., • Support the implementation and evolution of Front-of-House service standards and training programs., • Lead by example through professionalism, adaptability, and strong operational execution. Administrative & Operational Support • Prepare and maintain event documentation including staffing plans, timelines, floor plans, load-in schedules, contact sheets, task lists, and operational materials., • Review staffing plans and ensure alignment across scheduling and event management platforms., • Communicate event details and expectations with event leadership teams prior to service., • Complete event reports and operational debriefs within established deadlines., • Participate in staffing meetings, operational reviews, and event planning discussions., • Assist with site visits, client tastings, venue walkthroughs, and event preparation activities., • Support company-wide operational initiatives designed to improve team performance, event execution, and organizational growth., • Cross-train across planning, production, and operations to maintain a comprehensive understanding of event execution. QUALIFICATIONS Required Experience • 3 to 5 years of experience in fine dining, luxury catering, hospitality, or event operations., • 3 to 5 years of leadership experience managing hospitality teams., • Experience executing events within luxury venues, private residences, or high-end client environments., • Strong understanding of food and beverage service, event logistics, and guest experience management. Required Skills & Attributes • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills., • Strong organizational abilities with meticulous attention to detail., • Proven ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused under pressure., • High level of accountability, reliability, and personal ownership., • Strong judgment and decision-making skills., • Ability to effectively prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment., • Commitment to teaching, mentoring, and supporting team development., • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and event management software platforms., • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varied schedules based on event needs. Certifications & Requirements • Valid California Food Manager Certification., • Valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification., • Valid driver's license., • Reliable personal vehicle and current auto insurance meeting California minimum requirements. Preferred Qualifications • Bilingual in English and Spanish., • Previous experience in luxury hospitality, Michelin-level service environments, or large-scale event production., • Knowledge of San Francisco event venues and private event markets.
