Job DescriptionThe Aircraft Wash and Fleet Services Crew Member supports aircraft servicing operations for assigned, transient, and visiting aircraft at the 433d Airlift Wing. This position performs aircraft washing, lavatory servicing, fleet support, and related cleaning and logistical functions in accordance with Air Force Technical Orders (TOs), Air Force Instructions (AFIs), and the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Key Responsibilities Fleet and Lavatory Services • Perform Pre-Fleet and De-Fleet services on C-5M and other aircraft types (C-17, C-130, KC-135, etc.)., • Deliver and inventory expendable and regulated items (meals, coffee, water containers, blankets, pillows, etc.) using AMC Form 244., • Collect and dispose of domestic waste per local regulations; handle international waste in compliance with 7 CFR 330.400(b) and 9 CFR 94.5(b)., • Perform lavatory servicing (modified and non-modified systems) using contractor-provided equipment, ensuring proper PPE use and environmental compliance., • Transport waste to the Steven M. Clouse Water Recycling Center for disposal (approx. 24 miles one way). Aircraft Wash Operations • Conduct complete aircraft washes (interior and exterior) on C-5M aircraft every 180 days in accordance with TO 1C-5M-23-1., • Execute special washes, clear water rinses, spot washes, and landing gear door washes per Air Force Technical Orders., • Clean interior compartments (flight station, troop, cargo, underfloor areas) to specified standards., • Perform Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) washes when tasked (e.g., generator sets, hydraulic carts). Facility and Equipment Care • Maintain wash rack cleanliness and ensure proper drain valve operation (close storm drain, open industrial drain before wash)., • Keep all tools under a tool control program, logging sign-in/out and immediately reporting lost items., • Maintain and safeguard Government-Furnished Property (GFP) and notify the COR of discrepancies or needed replenishments. Administrative and Reporting Duties • Maintain daily and monthly service logs, including AFTO Form 349s and AMC Form 244s., • Submit monthly summaries to the COR by the 3rd day of each month., • Attend post-award or progress meetings when requested by the Contracting Officer or COR. Minimum Requirements • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to work on a federal installation., • Valid drivers license; ability to operate vehicles and lifts safely., • Ability to pass security background check and obtain base access., • Knowledge of cleaning, waste handling, and aircraft servicing procedures., • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, work in outdoor conditions, and perform manual labor., • Ability to read and follow Air Force Technical Orders and safety instructions. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in aircraft washing or ground support operations (military or civilian)., • Familiarity with Air Force fleet and lavatory service standards (AFI 24-605V2)., • Prior DoD or government service contract experience. Compensation • In accordance with the Service Contract Act Wage Determination 2015-5253 (Rev. 20, Dec 27 2022) for Bexar County, TX, this role aligns most closely with the 'Cleaner, Vehicles' classification:, • Overtime and Shift Differentials: Per applicable federal labor standards. Work Schedule Shifts vary based on aircraft schedules, typically including weekends and holidays. Performance time frames range from 1 hour (lavatory/fleet service) to 72 hours (complete aircraft wash).
