Job DescriptionJob Title: Pharmacy Assistant Job Description This onsite Pharmacy Assistant role supports a fast-paced automated refill center by accurately picking, packing, and preparing individual prescription orders for direct-to-patient shipment. You follow on-screen prompts, maintain strict attention to detail, and uphold all pharmacy procedures and privacy regulations to ensure safe, timely, and compliant prescription fulfillment. The position operates Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with occasional mandatory overtime to meet daily production goals. Responsibilities • Pick and pack individual prescription orders for direct-to-patient shipment, following on-screen prompts and program specifications., • Perform warehouse operations such as packing prescriptions, receiving, and shipping to support continuous workflow., • Process orders for shipping, ensuring all items and documentation are complete and accurate., • Fold and pack paperwork with prescriptions to prepare orders for shipment., • Sort orders by store location and place them in totes for shipping., • Load products into trucks in an organized and safe manner., • Maintain a continuous and consistent workflow to meet daily production goals in a fast-paced environment., • Work productively both independently and as part of a team while performing repetitive tasks with acute attention to detail., • Understand and follow federal and state HIPAA laws and pharmacy standard procedures to protect patient safety and privacy., • Comply with all policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)., • Demonstrate problem-resolution skills by recognizing issues, addressing them appropriately, and escalating to leadership when needed., • Adhere to and promote the organization’s shared principles and values in daily work.Essential Skills, • Pharmacy Assistant certification., • Ability to obtain a Kentucky Board of Pharmacy Technician License after hire at personal expense., • Ability to follow detailed on-screen prompts and written instructions accurately., • Strong attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks in a production environment., • Ability to lift and carry 20–25 pounds safely., • Capability to work productively both independently and within a team., • Understanding of and ability to comply with federal and state HIPAA laws and pharmacy procedures., • Basic data entry skills to support order processing and inventory-related tasks., • Experience or familiarity with pharmacy inventory, picking, packing, and fulfillment activities.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a clinical or pharmacy-related environment is beneficial., • Familiarity with central fill or automated refill center operations is helpful, though not required., • Exposure to medical coding or medical transcription processes is a plus., • Pharmacy technician certification or license is considered an advantage., • Strong problem-solving and issue-escalation skills., • Comfort working with inventory systems and fulfillment processes.Work Environment This role is fully onsite in a fast-paced, high-volume automated refill center that functions as a warehouse and production environment. You work Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with occasional mandatory overtime based on workload and production demands. The position involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive motions, and lifting and carrying 20–25 pounds as you pick, pack, sort, and load prescription orders. You work closely with automated systems and on-screen prompts to guide daily tasks, and you interact with a team focused on meeting strict production goals and quality standards. The environment emphasizes adherence to HIPAA regulations, pharmacy standard procedures, and formal policies and SOPs to ensure patient safety, privacy, and accurate order fulfillment. Appropriate attire for a warehouse and pharmacy production setting is expected, prioritizing safety, cleanliness, and professionalism. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
