Job DescriptionJob Title: Mixer Operator | Pay: $23 to start bumped to $24.50-$25/hour after 90 days Job Description | NO INTERVIEW - START IMMEDIATELY The Mixer Operator plays a key role in producing high-quality glues and sealants for commercial and residential windows. In this role, you operate mixing machinery, handle raw materials with a sit-down forklift, perform basic math and conversions, and accurately document all production and quality information in a computer system. You work in a fast-paced, industrial chemical mixing plant where attention to detail, safety, and efficiency are essential. Responsibilities • Operate mixing machines to produce glues and sealants according to batch specifications and production schedules., • Print and review batch mixing tickets to understand required materials, quantities, and mixing instructions., • Use a sit-down forklift to travel to the material staging area and pull the correct raw materials for each batch., • Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times per batch as you load ingredients into the mixing machines., • Transport collected materials via forklift to the mixing machine and follow the batch ticket to add ingredients in the correct order and quantity., • Monitor the mixing process to ensure proper operation and product consistency throughout the batch cycle., • While the machine processes the glue, use a forklift to stage four 50-gallon drums to collect the finished product., • Fill 50-gallon drums with finished glue or sealant, then safely transport the filled drums to the shipping or staging area using a forklift., • Complete all required production documentation by uploading process details into the computer system and closing out batch tickets accurately., • Perform and sign off on quality checks to verify that each batch meets required standards before release., • Follow the same batch process multiple times per shift, typically completing two batch orders per shift., • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area around mixing machines, staging areas, and forklift routes., • Work at a fast pace while multitasking between material handling, machine operation, and computer data entry., • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding batch status, material needs, and any issues or delays., • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in an industrial or production environment., • Proven sit-down forklift experience with the ability to safely operate in a busy plant with frequent material movement., • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift, and to handle heavy materials safely., • Basic math skills, including performing calculations and conversions with a calculator for ingredients and batch sizes., • Ability to move at a fast pace and keep up with production demands in a high-activity environment., • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently to follow batch tickets, safety instructions, and complete documentation., • Strong multitasking skills to manage mixing, material handling, and computer documentation simultaneously., • Comfort using computers to log production information, complete batch tickets, and send emails., • Experience with chemical mixing or machine operation in a manufacturing setting., • Mechanical aptitude to understand how mixing machines and related equipment operate., • Material handling and picking experience in a warehouse or production facility., • Comfortability being in an industrial or plant environment., • Experience with forklift operation in areas with frequent machine and pedestrian traffic., • Familiarity with SAP or other inventory or production systems is preferred, but training is available for candidates strong with computers., • Comfort working with chemicals and in a chemical mixing plant environment. Work Environment This role is based in a chemical mixing plant with a loud, high-activity industrial setting. You work around running machinery and frequent forklift traffic, so situational awareness and adherence to safety procedures are critical. The environment can become very hot, especially during the summer months, and there is no air conditioning in the building, so you must be comfortable working in extreme heat. Long-sleeved shirts are mandatory every day regardless of temperature, and you must be prepared for consistent physical activity, including lifting 50–75 pounds regularly. The position primarily supports 2nd shift, working 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, providing a predictable pattern of workdays and days off. New hires typically train on 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for approximately 3–4 weeks, depending on individual progress, to ensure full readiness before transitioning to the regular shift.
