Job DescriptionJob Title: General Production WorkerJob Description This role involves sorting and organizing metals for processing and recycling, as well as material handling. You will be responsible for unloading and loading trucks in both warehouse and outdoor environments. This is a physical position that requires regularly lifting metal parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities • Sort and organize metals for processing and recycling., • Handle materials effectively and efficiently., • Unload and load trucks., • Work in both warehouse and outdoor settings, being exposed to the elements approximately 50% of the time., • Lift and move metal parts weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.Essential Skills, • No specific experience required, but comfort in heavy industrial environments is necessary., • Familiarity with production, manufacturing, warehouse distribution, and materials handling.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial environments is required., • Comfortable with wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, high visibility vests, steel-toed boots, and ear plugs., • Ability to work outside approximately 50% of the time.Why Work Here? Work the first shift from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, in a heavy industrial scrap metal yard. While the environment is on the dirtier side and can be loud due to heavy machinery, safety is a priority with required PPE including hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
