Job Description Job Title: PERL CGI Web Application Developer Job Summary: The PERL CGI Web Application Developer will design, develop, and maintain web-based applications that interact with a SQL backend database (Oracle) on an open-source (Linux) platform. The role focuses on generating dynamic web content, implementing enhancements, resolving bugs, and collaborating within a development team to ensure quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain PERL CGI web-based applications integrated with an Oracle SQL backend database on a Linux platform., • Generate dynamic web content based on database queries., • Test, document, and validate code prior to release into production., • Meet with end users to gather requirements, discuss enhancements, and address bugs., • Implement bug fixes and enhancements as assigned through the Bugzilla tracking system., • Participate in code and peer reviews to ensure code quality, proper testing, and thorough documentation., • Utilize Git for version control and source management., • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT field with a focus on software development., • Technical Skills:, • Minimum 1 year of experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL, with a solid understanding of relational databases., • Minimum 1 year of experience in Common Gateway Interface (CGI) web-based development using PERL on an open-source platform (e.g., LAMP stack)., • Minimum 1 year of experience with the Linux operating system, including command-line navigation and file creation using a text editor (e.g., Vi)., • Other Skills:, • Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities., • Excellent communication and collaboration skills., • Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday., • May occasionally require weekend or holiday work as needed., • Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule – work from home on Monday and Friday; on-site attendance required Tuesday through Thursday., • Dress Code: Business casual., • Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. citizen.
