Job Description Job Title: Painter Job Description Under moderate supervision, the Painter will effectively prepare and paint major sub-assemblies and other parts of aircraft in production according to specifications and schedule requirements. Responsibilities • Perform a variety of activities including preparation of surfaces and mixing paints., • Paint aircraft, small parts, and various surfaces according to required specifications., • Perform layout and masking as necessary., • Mix paints, primers, etc. according to specifications., • Paint major assemblies (including metal, fiberglass and composite material), detail parts, and apparatus related to ground support., • Strip paint and prepare surfaces as required., • Perform miscellaneous paint operations and apply decals., • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supporting the company's 5S and Lean Initiatives Programs and complying with safety regulations., • Demonstrate manufacturing competencies in the Employee Effectiveness Review., • Provide guidance and training to more junior members of the department., • Experience with HVLP, electrostatic, paint prep, and stripe techniques., • Proficiency in spray gun painting, aircraft painting, mixing, and blending., • High School diploma or GED., • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in the painting trade and methods of mixing paint colors., • Two years of painting/paint preparation experience., • Valid Driver's license and MVR required. Manager is looking for candidate open to working night shifts and weekend shifts Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SAVANNAH, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.66 - $28.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
