You will work closely with clients to develop and implement personalized music therapy programs that promote healing, self-expression, and overall well-being. Responsibilities: - Conduct assessments to determine clients' needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. - Develop individualized music therapy treatment plans based on assessment results. - Facilitate individual and group music therapy sessions using a variety of musical techniques and interventions. - Utilize guitar or piano and singing in therapy sessions to engage clients effectively. - Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, caregivers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care. - Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities. - Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients during therapy sessions. - Stay current with research and best practices in the field of music therapy. ** Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited institution. - Board Certification (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapists. - Valid Music Therapist license in New Jersey. - Proficiency in playing guitar or piano and singing is preferred. - Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. - Strong musical skills and the ability to use various instruments in therapy. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of clients. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
