The Modular Solutions Proposal Engineer owns technical and commercial quoting for complete modular power solutions serving mission-critical data centers and select industrial markets (oil & gas, renewables/BESS, mining, and utility). This role translates customer requirements and RFPs into a clearly defined scope, configuration, price, and schedule for integrated solutions that may include E-Houses, PDCs, MV/LV skids, switchgear/switchboards, ATS, UPS, battery systems, HVAC, fire detection/suppression interfaces, and related auxiliaries. You will coordinate across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and field services to produce accurate, competitive proposals with well-defined assumptions and risk controls. Key Responsibilities: • Review RFPs, specifications, and drawings; identify technical requirements, exclusions, and commercial terms that affect scope and price., • Define solution architecture and boundaries (what is included in the module vs. site work), including interconnect responsibilities and battery-room safety interfaces., • Develop and document assumptions, deviations, and clarifications to ensure quote accuracy and reduce execution risk., • Work with electrical/mechanical/controls engineering to select standard and custom configurations for E-Houses, PDCs, and skids based on performance requirements and schedule., • Create proposal-level technical documentation (scope of supply, system descriptions, block diagrams/one-line excerpts as appropriate, compliance statements, and option lists)., • Coordinate vendor quotations and technical inputs for major components (switchgear, transformers, UPS, batteries, HVAC, fire systems, monitoring)., • Build and maintain cost models and bill-of-material frameworks; evaluate labor, material, overhead, logistics, and test/commissioning costs., • Develop lead-time and schedule estimates, including manufacturing duration, FAT/SAT, shipping, and field services where applicable., • Drive internal review/approval workflows (pricing, margin, technical risk, delivery commitments) and prepare final commercial proposal packages., • Lead quote clarifications with customers and internal teams; support technical presentations and solution alignment discussions., • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical preferred; Mechanical or related engineering acceptable with strong power-module experience)., • Minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal engineering, applications engineering, estimating, or technical sales support for modular power systems or mission-critical power distribution., • Demonstrated experience quoting complete solutions (multi-discipline scope) including equipment selection, vendor coordination, and scope definition., • Working knowledge of modular electrical-room systems: switchgear/switchboards, transformers, ATS, UPS, batteries, auxiliaries, and the mechanical systems that enable them (HVAC/fire interfaces)., • Strong proficiency with Excel-based costing and documentation; ability to manage multiple simultaneous opportunities and deadlines., • Direct data center power infrastructure quoting experience (PDCs, UPS plants, busway interfaces, modular power rooms)., • Experience with UL/NRTL scope considerations and how compliance requirements impact cost and schedule., • Familiarity with ERP/CPQ/CRM tools (SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, or similar) and structured BOM/pricing systems., • Understanding of logistics considerations for large modules (shipping, lifting/rigging, site set, and installation services)., • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time., • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
