About the Role We are looking for an expert in Infrastructure Engineering with strong expertise in passive telecom sector, responsible for driving the industrialization, standardization, and continuous improvement of infrastructure engineering practices across all countries. The role will act as a technical authority and coordination point, supporting country teams in defining and deploying common engineering standards, processes, methodologies, and templates, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability across the Cellnex footprint. In addition, the role will provide technical support in asset management, inventory quality improvement, procurement processes, and operational analytics, enabling data‑driven decision making and best‑practice benchmarking. The role will support the IRIS (Digital Twin) program by leading the development and evolution of high‑fidelity digital representations of physical telecom assets, such as towers, rooftops, and antenna systems, enabling advanced structural analysis, lifecycle performance management, and the integration of real‑time operational data into Cellnex’s digital twin platforms, while providing centralized technical services across all countries. At the same time, the position acts as a transversal technical reference, combining deep expertise in passive infrastructure and structural engineering with strong project management, BIM/digital twin implementation capabilities, and cross‑country coordination, working closely with local engineering, operations, and procurement teams to ensure consistent, data‑driven, and scalable infrastructure engineering practices across the entire footprint. What You’ll Do 1. Cross-country Passive engineering support • Assess, harmonize and industrialize passive engineering criteria, modelling practices, and structural assessment processes across regions., • Define and maintain the Passive Engineering Guidelines., • Lead the definition of Group‑wide technical infrastructure requirements and introduced a limited set of scalable typologies adoptable across all Cellnex markets-ensuring repeatability, cross‑country compatibility and cost efficiency., • Expert support for Passive engineering processes guarantying the knowledge in all countries and helping in the application of these concepts to their standards. Provide engineering expertise to rollout teams if necessary., • Support countries in BTS engineering definition parameters and drivers for new opportunities. 2. Collaboration & Standards • Collaborate with country counterparts to align on uniform engineering criteria, modelling practices, and structural assessment processes across regions., • Ensure consistent implementation of group-wide engineering methodologies and quality standards. 3. Modelling Physical Infrastructure • Develop and maintain accurate, real-world 3D standard models of telecom structures, including towers, rooftop installations, and support frames that could support all our activity., • Incorporate material properties, load-bearing data, and precise geometric information into all infrastructure standard models. 4. Materials and solutions • Analyse new materials and solutions in passive telecom infrastructure, homologate these new solutions and support the integration of these new solutions in the countries. 5. Structural Health Monitoring • Harmonize solution to sensor the passive infrastructure and integrate these sensor data (e.g., strain gauges, tilt meters, vibration sensors) into digital twins’ models to monitor real-time structural performance., • Support the countries in the analyse of data to detect early signs of fatigue, corrosion, or structural deformation., • Recommend reinforcements, upgrades, or replacements based on structural performance and risk assessment data. 6. Simulation & Predictive Analysis • Run simulations to understand how structures perform under stressors such as wind, seismic activity, and equipment loading. Be aware of the last simulation characteristics and new technologies adopted, • Support predictive maintenance strategies by identifying high-risk components or failure-prone areas before issues arise. 7. Compliance, Regulation & Safety Validation • Ensure all structural components meet local/national building codes, telecom regulations, and internal H&S and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) policies., • Provide support to structural integrity assessment when relevant modifications are introduced (e.g. installation of heavy equipment). What We’re Looking For Education • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master’s degree in Structures will be strongly valued., • Formal education or certified training in BIM Management, Digital Construction, or BuiltTech disciplines is highly valued. Languages • English: Advanced (Must-have), • Spanish: Intermediate (Valuable), • French/Italian: Intermediate (Valuable) Tools & Systems • MS Office: Advanced (Must-have), • Autodesk Revi: Advanced (Must-have), • Navisworks, InfrasWorks, Bentley OpenBuildings or similar: Intermediate (Valuable), • Artificial Intelligence: Intermediate (Valuable) Experience • Minimum 5 years of experience in:, • Structural engineering for infrastructure projects, preferably including telecom towers, linear infrastructure, or industrial assets., • Demonstrated experience working with country design bases and criteria across different national regulations., • Experience working with digital twins, GIS integration, or predictive maintenance platforms is valuable., • Valued experience acting as a technical interface between country engineering teams, BIM teams, and digital platform developers. Other Competences and Relevant Skills • Knowledge of structural standards and telecom-specific codes across European regions., • BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD), simulation tools, and sensor-based monitoring systems., • Valuable: Dynamo, Grasshopper, or other parametric design tools., • Valuable background in structural verification and simulation (wind, seismic, load combinations) using commercial FEM tools., • Ability to define, justify, and document structural design bases, assumptions, deviations, and country-specific exceptions., • Cross‑functional Collaboration and Communication, • Strategic Thinking & Decision-Making, • Strong abstraction and analytical skills to manage multi-country engineering inputs., • Proven ability to build consensus among engineers with diverse technical and cultural backgrounds., • Autonomous and proactive profile, comfortable operating in hybrid technical–coordination roles within a PMO or central team. What we offer • Hybrid work model (3 days onsite / 2 remote)., • Modern office located in Barcelona city (headquarters), in Passeig de la Zona Franca, 105., • International and cross-functional teamwork environment., • Growth opportunities in a fast-evolving tech company., • A purpose-driven role with societal and business impact.
