GDELS –Santa Bárbara Sistemas contributes to this mission as a key player in the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of armored vehicles and artillery in Spain. The IT Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions across hybrid environments. This role ensures that architecture aligns with business strategy, cybersecurity frameworks, enterprise standards, and technology roadmaps. The IT Architect serves as the design authority for mission‑critical platforms, enabling modernization, operational excellence, and long‑term scalability. Design and implement end to end IT infrastructure solutions aligned with business requirements, enterprise architecture, and security standards: Conduct detailed business and technical analysis to define infrastructure requirements and translate them into architectural designs (HLD/LLD). Develop and maintain IT infrastructure architecture standards, patterns, and guidelines across all technology domains. Evaluate and recommend new infrastructure technologies to drive performance, resilience, and efficiency. Ensure alignment with global GDELS architecture, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks. Collaborate with network, security, cloud, workplace, and operations teams to ensure architectural integrity and successful implementation. Support project delivery as design authority, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices. Participate in or lead architecture review boards and design governance processes. Essential Infrastructure Architecture Domains: Compute Architecture Windows/Linux server architecture, OS standards, CIS hardening, golden image strategy. VMware vSphere, resource pools, HA/DRS design, template management. Storage & Backup/Recovery Architecture SAN/NAS, backup policies, immutable backups, DR runbooks, RPO/RTO planning. Hybrid Cloud & Azure Architecture Landing zones, identity integration, governance, cost control, network connectivity, policy-as-code. Network & Connectivity Foundations Monitoring & Observability Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Servers and operating systems Networks and connectivity Databases VMware vSphere and/or Citrix virtualization Azure or AWS cloud environments (Azure preferred) Network fundamentals and secure connectivity Experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF. Strong documentation, modeling, and architecture design skills. IT certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Cisco CCNP, VMware VCP) desired Advanced English written and spoken, Spanish and/or German is a plus Participate in major national and international projects.
