The company is based on three disruptive assets: • Proprietary biostatistical algorithms,, • Extensive microbiology and physiology expertise, and In order to support its research and innovation department, Aviwell is recruiting a highly talented Microbiology Laboratory Technician for a full-time position. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the platform for isolating and characterizing anaerobic bacteria, including upscaling production for animal studies and genomic sequencing. The candidate will be experienced in microbial isolation, cultivation, and characterization. The candidate will be experienced in preparation of general laboratory media and reagents, and general molecular biology procedures. Summary of Job Responsibilities • Perform procedures for culturing and isolating bacteria, including strict anaerobes, under a variety of growth conditions, • Prepare culture media (solid and liquid) and assist with scale-up for animal studies, • Follow established procedures for microbial library management, including sample traceability and data recording, • SOP development, • Conduct microbiology and bacterial physiology operations (e.g., OD monitoring, growth characterization), • Perform molecular biology workflows: DNA extractions, PCR, electrophoresis, purification, • Prepare samples and DNA extracts for downstream analyses, • Maintain thorough records of experiments in an electronic laboratory notebook, • Apply and uphold laboratory health and safety regulations, • Participate in routine lab management (inventory, maintenance, ordering), • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary and international team, • Present brief updates during internal team meetings on experimental work Location: • Toulouse, France Minimum Education: • Bac+2 in microbiology, biotechnology, or bioprocesses Minimum Work Requirements: • 2+ years of experience in bacterial culturing and isolation, • 2+ years of experience in molecular biology techniques (DNA extraction, PCR, etc.), • Experience in media preparation, • Fluent in French and English (team meetings held in English) Skills: • Knowledge of microbiological analysis methods, • Mastery of aseptic technique and bacterial cultivation, • Familiarity with bacterial culture processing (filtration, extraction, purification), • Strong adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety standards, • Autonomy, team spirit, rigor, and strong organizational skills, • Comfortable with computer tools and adaptable to automated laboratory equipment, • Clear written and oral communication; ability to document work and present technical information, • Good command of scientific English Contract & Start Date: The position will begin as a CDD (1 year) with the potential to transition to a CDI. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Expected start date: January 2026, with the possibility to start in February.
