Maintenance Officer • Annual Salary: Up to £29'000, • Location: Canning Town, London Day-to-day of the role: • Support daily, weekly, and monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled, including fire alarm tests, water temperature recording, and emergency lighting tests., • Conduct planned room health & safety checks in coordination with Customer Services., • Deliver first-line response to reactive maintenance, cleaning, and repairs., • Perform minor building fabric spot cleaning, repairs, decorating tasks, and plumbing repairs., • Inspect plant rooms and boilers for leaks and general condition., • Maintain equipment, ensuring it is well stored and meets all safety requirements., • Conduct tests on all portable electrical appliances as required., • Use a range of common hand and power tools to carry out maintenance tasks., • Assist with the inspection of the condition of the grounds, building, and facilities., • Undertake general janitorial duties and ad-hoc porterage duties as requested., • Maintain accurate digital documentation and provide excellent customer service to residents., • Proactively monitor communal areas and report any issues related to health & safety, maintenance, or cleaning., • Liaise with Sub-Contractors to ensure good Health and Safety practices and high-quality work standards., • Proven experience in building cleaning, maintenance, handyperson, or caretaking duties., • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment., • Proficient communication skills and IT/systems skills., • Confidence to address property/security matters when necessary., • Diplomatic, tactful, patient, and tolerant., • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, honest, reliable, and punctual., • Successful candidates will undergo a criminal record check by the Disclosure and Barring Service., • Holiday: 25 days annual leave, increasing yearly up to 30 days, plus bank holidays and an extra day off for your birthday., • Health & Wellbeing:, • Weekly “Wellbeing Hour” for personal time., • Up to 2 Wellbeing Days per year., • Reimbursements for gym memberships., • 24-hour confidential helpline., • Cycle to work scheme and season ticket loans., • Free eye tests and contributions towards glasses., • Group yoga and other activities., • Pension: Up to 7.5% employer match on pension contributions., • Career Development: Options for professional qualifications, internal training, professional accreditation, or membership to a professional body., • Flexible Working: Commitment to work-life balance, considering team and organisational needs., • Employee Socials: Seasonal team-organised social events., • Office Equipment: High-quality IT and remote working equipment available., • Discounts: Access to discounts for holidays, shopping, dining, and more through the Proud to Care scheme.
