Business Development Manager Freight Forwarding - EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL UK coverage, working remotely with an opportunity to spend time at the Kent or Heathrow office. Expectations, is normally GP at 4 times salary. Commission on new business is 10% year, 4% year 2, 1% year 3 and then becomes a house account, and no commission. Air, Road, Sea, import and Export experience. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager to join a growing freight forwarding business. If you have strong commercial skills and a background in selling air, ocean or road freight services, this role offers excellent career progression and earning potential. About the Freight Forwarding BDM Role You will be responsible for winning new business, developing long-term customer relationships and driving revenue growth across multiple freight services. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on building their own pipeline, converting leads and managing the full sales cycle from first contact through to onboarding and account management. Key Responsibilities of the Freight Forwarding Business Development role: Generate new business through proactive prospecting, networking and client meetings - road, air, sea freight, warehousing. 3pl. Build and manage a strong pipeline of potential customers Sell a full portfolio of air, ocean and road freight services Present tailored solutions based on customer needs Maintain accurate CRM records, reporting activity and pipeline progress Oversee seamless onboarding of new clients Identify and convert profitable commercial opportunities Review account performance and maximise revenue and gross profit Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations and Finance teams Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions and networking opportunities Experience & Skills Required Minimum 5 years sales experience within a freight forwarding company Strong track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills Commercially minded with strong analytical skills Motivated, ambitious and confident managing the full sales process Able to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues Self-starter with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach If you are a driven freight sales professional looking for a new challenge within a supportive and ambitious team, we want to hear from you.
