We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team based in Waterbeach, Cambridge. We are open to considering full-time or part-time options for this role. \n \n What you’ll be doing \n Farm business administration \n Prepare and maintain farm and cropping records and collate sales information. \n Use account software to extract and interpret financial data for performance analysis. \n Process supplier invoices and help prepare/update budgets, cash flows and forecasts. \n Liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers. \n Prepare meeting packs as well as take and circulate minutes. \n Support applications and claims for farming schemes and grants, keeping track of deadlines, payments and relevant policy changes. \n Help maintain compliance records and develop knowledge of key farming and environmental schemes. \n Prepare and maintain farming agreements, licences and tenancies, ensuring key renewal and termination dates are effectively managed. \n Support senior consultants in providing management and strategic advice to farming and contracting businesses, including business plans and reports. \n Arrange and attend farm visits and client meetings, providing follow-up support and correspondence. \n Data management: Help capture and manage farm business data and produce reports for clients and consultants. \n Work in line with company standards, best practice and relevant legislation, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. \n Maintain your professional and technical knowledge through ongoing development and share knowledge and best practice with colleagues. \n \n About you \n Have an interest in or understanding of agriculture, land management or the rural economy. \n Strong administration skills. Any experience specifically in a similar farm or estate administration role or within a rural consultancy would be an advantage, but not essential. \n Good numeracy, with confidence working on budgets, invoices and financial data. \n Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. \n Clear and confident written and verbal communication, including a professional telephone manner. \n Ability to manage competing priorities, stay calm under pressure and meet deadlines. \n Self-motivated, able to use their own initiative, and willing to take on new challenges. \n A positive, flexible team player \n Experience of introducing new ways of working to improve efficiency. \n Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word. \n Familiarity with farm management and accounting software such as Farmplan Gatekeeper, Muddy Boots, Greentree and Key Prime would be a bonus. \n Any knowledge or experience of the Rural Payments service or agri-environment schemes would be useful but not essential. \n Full UK driving licence and own car. \n \n Why Bidwells? \n We’re a different kind of business.
