🚧 Mechanical Project Manager – Gigaplant Project 📍 Bridgwater, Somerset, UK | 📆 12-Month Contract (Outside IR35) | 🔄 Extension Likely 📅 Start Date: TBC | 🏗️ On-site: 3–4 Days Per Week An exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s most significant clean energy and advanced manufacturing projects. A global battery manufacturing organisation is building a major gigaplant at the Gravity Smart Campus near Bridgwater, Somerset — part of a multi-phase development worth around £4 billion, targeting 40 GWh annual battery capacity and expected to create up to 4,000 high-skilled jobs. As Mechanical Project Manager, you will represent the client on-site, overseeing all mechanical and building services installations. You’ll ensure delivery of HVAC, process utilities, chilled water, compressed air, and fire protection systems — safely, efficiently, and in line with design, quality, and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities • Act as the client’s on-site representative for mechanical works, • Oversee daily mechanical construction activities, quality, and contractor performance, • Manage installation of HVAC, process utilities, fire protection, and mechanical plant systems, • Review designs, specifications, technical submissions, and installation methods, • Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, H&S standards, and project requirements, • Coordinate with engineering, quality, electrical, and civil teams, • Produce regular site reports, highlighting progress, issues, risks, and solution Candidate Profile • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar, • 8–10 years’ experience in large-scale industrial or manufacturing construction projects, • Strong background in mechanical/HVAC/process installation and commissioning, • Gigafactory, automotive, pharmaceutical, or high-tech sector experience desirable, • Excellent stakeholder, contractor, and project coordination skills, • Proficient with MS Project or similar tools, • CSCS / SMSTS or equivalent safety certification preferred
