    Job Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our esteemed hospitality team at new opening Chintemani restaurant in King's Road. The ideal candidate will possess a refined palate, excellent customer service skills, and a deep understanding of wines and spirits. This role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance guests’ dining experience through expert wine recommendations and personalised service. Candidates with experience in catering, serving, or food preparation within a restaurant environment will find this position particularly suitable. A background in hospitality, or food safety certifications are considered advantageous. The successful applicant will be responsible for curating wine selections, assisting guests with pairings, and maintaining the wine cellar to the highest standards. Duties Provide expert advice on wine and beverage selections tailored to guest preferences and menu offerings Assist with food and beverage pairing suggestions to enhance dining experiences Serve wines and spirits professionally, ensuring proper presentation and pouring techniques Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the wine cellar and service areas Support catering events by delivering exceptional service in various settings Collaborate with kitchen staff on food preparation aspects related to wine pairings Uphold food safety standards at all times, ensuring compliance with health regulations Engage with guests courteously, creating a welcoming atmosphere that promotes guest satisfaction Keep abreast of new wine trends, products, and industry developments to provide informed recommendations Qualifications Proven experience in hospitality roles such as restaurant service, catering, work is highly desirable Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, and food pairing principles Experience in serving or food preparation within a restaurant environment preferred Certification or training in food safety is advantageous Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with guests and team members Organised with an eye for detail in handling wine storage and presentation Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of service A personable demeanour combined with professionalism and enthusiasm for the hospitality industry Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Company events Company pension Discounted or free food Employee discount Employee mentoring programme Work Location: In person
