Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre Design Salary: £70,000 per annum An industry-leading modular data centre provider is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its growing technical team. This newly created role spans the full engineering lifecycle — from concept development and testing to technical design, production, installation, and commissioning. You’ll work closely with senior technical leadership, specialist consultants, and project teams to shape next-generation modular data centre solutions. What You’ll Be Doing: • Support product testing, evaluations, and innovation activities., • Lead mechanical elements of technical design, working with internal teams, suppliers, and clients., • Develop strong understanding of company design principles and maintain project compliance., • Provide concept designs and technical support for early sales activity., • Coordinate technical design delivery, resolving challenges and improving processes., • Analyse engineering issues and develop clear, practical solutions., • Work with clients, contractors, and design teams to ensure feasibility and contractual alignment., • Produce sketches, CFD inputs, and well-structured technical documentation., • Collaborate with BMS engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and technical teams. What You Will Have: • BEng in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline., • 3+ years' experience in data centre engineering., • Strong CAD/design software skills.
