We are seeking an experienced, strategically focused Director of Estates & Facilities to join us at a pivotal point in our development. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, and a key member of our senior team, you will lead the long-term planning and optimisation of our estate and infrastructure, ensuring our built environment is safe, compliant, sustainable and fit for purpose for patients and staff. This is a high-impact executive role. You will shape and deliver the Trust’s Estates Strategy, aligned to our developing clinical strategy and future service model, and lead the move to a Corporate Landlord approach to maximise estate utilisation and value. You will be professionally accountable for all estates and facilities activity across the Trust, including Estates (Hard FM), Facilities (Soft FM), Capital Projects, Property Management, Sustainability, PFI Management and Medical Devices. Main duties of the role include: • Advising the Board on all estates and facilities matters as the Trust’s subject matter expert, • Developing and delivering the Estates Strategy, Delivery Plan and Capital Strategy, • Ensuring safe, secure and compliant environments for patients and staff, • Leading capital planning and delivery, aligned to clinical priorities, • Overseeing the management of PFI contracts and ensuring value, performance and effective partnership working, • Driving sustainability and net zero progress across the estate, • Providing visible, values-led leadership to a large and diverse workforce We are looking for a senior leader with a strong track record in estates and facilities at scale, ideally in the NHS or healthcare sector. You will bring strategic credibility and operational grip, with experience of leading transformation in a complex and financially constrained environment. You will also have strong knowledge of statutory compliance, healthcare estates standards and governance, and the ability to build effective relationships with clinical, corporate and external partners.
