Job title: Scientific Training and Marketing Manager Location: Harwell Salary: £36,196 - £39,463 Contract type: Open-ended Hours: Full-Time (36 hours per week); however part-time hours of a minimum of 25 hours per week may be available About Us The Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell (MLC) is located in an expanding science and innovation park in Oxfordshire and is a worldclass centre at the forefront of genetics research.As the hub of the new National Mouse Genetics Network, the specialist facilities and capabilities of the MLC support a number of research groups across the UK to accelerate our understanding of human disease. About the Role Are you creative, highly motivated and dynamic and ready to be part of something important? Were looking for someone like you to join our Operations Team at the Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell (MLC), supporting the delivery of training courses, symposiums and networking events at the Advance Training Centre. In this varied and rewarding role, youll be right at the heart of our Advance Training Centrea pioneering facility built to host world-class events. Whether you're planning training events, promoting courses, or developing materials to increase stakeholder engagement, your work will make a real impact. You'll help ensure our spaces are fully utilised and use data analytics to inform future event planning, and survey training gaps to assist in coordination of new training courses. About You A scientific background and experience of working in a scientific environment. Experience of working within a customer-focused environment.t A willingness to learn and be flexible. High level of project management and organisational skills. Creative and flexible with the ability to innovate when changes are required. Networking skills and a focus on maintaining excellent working relationships with all stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Oversee and plan training events and engage with tutors. Develop, implement and market new training courses and events of interest around training and skills. Coordinate and help develop brochures/marketing material to publicise existing courses and increase stakeholder engagement. Attend networking events and conferences to promote existing courses and increase stakeholder engagement. Use data analytics and customer feedback to inform future marketing strategies and event-planning decisions. Survey training gaps and assist in the coordination of new training courses. Report on the training financial accounts, raise orders and invoices and, with managers, ensure that budgetary requirements are met.
