We are interested in hearing from suitably qualified practitioner psychologists and/or CBT therapists, with experience of demonstrable clinical leadership.This is a particularly good time to consider joining us as there are plans for significant investment in our clinical services. Norfolk and Waveney Talking Therapies has recently been re-commissioned and performance against many national metrics is strong. As part of our commitment to quality we are working towards the goal of APPTS accreditation with the Royal College of Psychiatrists. To this and other ends, we have a formal partnership with East London Foundation Trust, including an expert reference group, to share expertise and guide senior practitioners in their roles. There are already specialisms in long term conditions and peri-natal, and we are also seeking to enhance our trauma provision in line with commissioning requirements.Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will take the lead for developing our older adults provision, with a specific focus on rural coastal mental health. The service is committed to meeting the needs of this often overlooked population. The post holder will work with the director of psychology and colleagues, to both integrate the existing primary care offering with other Trust services for older people and carers and to develop, new innovation that enhances the pathway. Additionally, where interest and skills are aligned, there may also be a secondary role leading the development of our digital clinical offering including the integration of AI into clinical practise, or with responsibility for an agreed roving portfolio.The service is research active and works closely the University of East Anglia to deliver research and evaluation projects to publication. Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesVisible clinical leadership with a large, county-wide workforce is essential for this full- time role. While an element of hybrid working is possible, this is not a remote position and the successful applicant will be required to conduct some activity across service delivery sites. Therefore, the ability drive and access to a motor vehicle is essential.If you are having to relocate for your role you are entitled to claim for up to £5,000 of relocation costs. Not applicable to newly qualified nurses and you must meet the minimum requirements of the policy.Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria- A recognised undergraduate degree and postgraduate qualification in Psychology or a core mental health profession (e.g. Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy) leading to eligibility for HCPC registration as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist and/or BABCP accreditation- Supervisor qualification/training to undertake clinical supervision of trainees, qualified staff and supervisors in a model relevant to Talking TherapiesDesirable criteria- Further training in a range of therapeutic approaches relevant to the service area. Training in developmental models of clinical supervision.ExperienceEssential criteria- Extensive clinical experience of mental health work. Highly specialised experience of developing and delivering specialised treatment packages with individuals and groups- Demonstrable experience of leading on service or pathway development within a psychological therapies context. Experience of providing expert consultation and supervision across multiprofessional teams.Desirable criteria- Experience of working with a wide variety of patients whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems. Substantial experience in managerial/clinical supervision of casework of others.SkillsEssential criteria- Meets core professional competencies highlighted in the EMDR Competence Framework. Highly specialist, theoretical knowledge of Mental health disorders and alternative ways of conceptualising difficulties. Highly specialist therapeutic assessment skills.- Excellent communication skills with a range of people in a variety of both clinical and managerial settings. Proven supervisory skills. Advanced knowledge of evidence based psychological interventions used in the effective management of common mental health problems.Desirable criteria- Working knowledge of health legislation and current practice in mental health, including risk assessment and management. Proven research and audit skills. Ability to work constructively with senior management and others to deliver continuous service improvementKnowledgeEssential criteria- Knowledge of psychosocial interventions.
